@mscarolavery Doing things as soon as I get them. If I am unable to finish them right then and there, I write it down. If more information is needed, I wrote it down. Due dates and urgency move things up and down the list. #oduleaders
Pearl River Central High School Principal Kimberly Alford told Catherine Bass she had defended the art teacher's decision to hang a pride flag in her classroom in the past, but had to reprimand her for telling students about her pansexual identity.

@Shapiro_WTHS “You are the company you keep.” If you surround yourself with negativity, then that is what you will become. Don’t be an energy vampire! #teacherpos
@Shapiro_WTHS I teach at a title I school. Coming to school is the only safe and caring environment they encounter. My positive phone calls home to parents can totally change a students outlook. #teacherpos
@Shapiro_WTHS I always remind myself that it isn’t the kids fault that I lost my planning period to sub for another class. So why take it out on them and let it impact their day negatively? #teacherpos
@Shapiro_WTHS Despite my own personal feelings, I always put on a happy face for the kids. “Good morning. How are you. What did you do this weekend.” I have to set the tone for the class and my mood (at least the one I let everyone see) impacts the students and learning for the day.#teacherpos
@Mr_EHang I should try this. I am 10 years in and at a new school this year and am STRUGGLING. There are so many aspects of my school that just create worse situations. It is toxic.
@Shapiro_WTHS A1: It is so easy to get caught up in all the things we don’t like. Meetings. Subbing for other classes. Handling discipline. Contacting parents. Etc. We have to remember those moments where we think,”This is why I wanted to be a teacher.”#teacherpos
