Yep. @wcboe has these rules. Daughter was out 3 days with viral illness. Upon return she was unable to get thru the day. Lectured while waiting for me to pick her up "in the real world you can't just go home when you don't feel good" by nurses. What is this teaching her?
When I was in school if I was sick, my parents let the school know and the school believed them.
Now I get asked by parents all of the time to write a required doctors note for missed days and I’m sorry but THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY STUPID.
WE'RE HIRING!

I regularly get DMs from folk being annoyed at me using Scots words. I’M SCOTTISH THIS IS HOW I SPEAK. It’s not a hard concept to grasp. Having an accent doesn’t equate to bad pronunciation - stop telling people to “speak proper English”. It’s such an outdated & classist view. 🙃

In loving memory of Dr. Thomas Meixner
Tom was a wonderful and kind person, whose larger-than-life approach to being and doing inspired those around him and elevated the community. The world is different without him. He will be missed and loved by all. @uarizona
