It's not always that prayer will 'work'.

There's no prayer I didn't pray when my dad was ill. He died.

There's no prayer I didn't pray when I was pregnant 13 yrs ago and noticed I suddenly started bleeding in my first trimester. I lost the child.

There was no prayer we didn't pray when my sister wrote her conversion exams. She failed it twice.

When Jesus was to die on the cross, He prayed a prayer:

"My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not what I want, but why you want."

And this prayer is the mind set with which I approach my relationship with God.

Oh, I've prayed many a prayer that the answer from God had been No. I have prayed thinking I know what is best. But each time I have gotten No, I believe it is His will for me.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer 29:11
