I loved our field trip today to Maroubra! Sad to see all the trash, but I also made sure to pick up some bottles and plastic bags I saw on the ground by the sand dune vegetation. I learned that the vegetation in the dunes helps hold the sand dunes in place! #marenvs20

What a day yesterday at Bondi Beach! Bondi Beach is just one Australian beach protected by shark nets. Shark nets however have had a 63% failure rate and often kill sharks rather than simply decrease interaction b/w humans and sharks. #MarEnvS20

Monogamy in the animal world is rare, but it IS found in penguins, specifically emperor penguins! In a penguin relationship, the mom and dad work together to keep their precious egg safe. #MarEnvS20

One main difference is that the leopard seal has a mesh structure inside its nose which keeps moisture and water within the seal’s bloodstream that they would otherwise lose! #MarEnvS20
