@vane_sincovich This is already happening now! A lot of kids lack the skills to memorize content but are becoming more adept at using different resources to find information. This shift is such one of many interesting effect that technology can have on learning
@PeterPapadatos2 It really is cool to see that, especially on tik tok I'll find myself liking a video and then I'm just one of millions who have watched the same clip
@PeterPapadatos2 I think schools are so overly strict on references. It's such a headache for students and the education system isn't require to teach us but we're still expected to know!
@shanks_educ307 @vane_sincovich I hadn't heard about this, thanks for sharing! I feel like "cookies" are the least threatening form of this practice but sometimes the most invasive. And with a name like that I definitely didn't know what signing off to cookies meant when I was a kid lol
@vane_sincovich The entire format of terms and conditions (super lengthy) is there to discourage you from reading all the fine details too! This way you feel obliged to agree in order to get access but don't even know what you agreed to
@vane_sincovich Social media has allowed a lot of women to form a sense of community which strengthened their investment in the movement. At the same time, the original message often becomes misconstrued so it's tough to say
@vane_sincovich There is a strong belief in activist communities that a feminist can never just be a feminist because supporting one movement is to care about the rights of all minorities
@PeterPapadatos2 I think you bring up a good point for why schools should incorporate digital technology into their curriculum: it gives access to kids who might otherwise not have it
@vane_sincovich I definitely feel like this helps promote a safe space on social media because the person running the account is in control. They can filter out who can and can't see their posts
@v_balanc Very true, some parents don't take the time to educate their kids on the dangers of social media so implementing technology in schools can create a space for this kind of learning
@v_balanc Recently, bullying interventions in schools have been catered more towards cyberbullying than in person altercations which just shows how online access has shifted our culture
@v_balanc The feminist movement has gone on for so long and will continue to go on for even longer. Social media has given women even more power in this movement
