Have you seen someone doing a great job recently? Tell them.
Humans thrive under positivity, much like a plant.
You don’t know the impact you can make on them until you see their later g r o w t h.
Ryan Reynolds is a thoroughly normal man who wants to be seen as wacky, while Hugh Jackman is someone who is seen as normal but is actually sublimely wacky.
How Kit Kats will help you finally achieve your goal. ⬇️
Most people will never launch thing they’ve been talking about.
Why?
Because they get overwhelmed and never find enough time to devote to this project.
They stay in the minutia of the day never blocking for the meaningful but less urgent work.
They stay on defense. Never working toward their goal but helping others achieve theirs.
If you are overwhelmed or stalled on a project, steal my go-to momentum tool.
This strategy helped me write a book in 12 weeks, launch a course in 2 months and start a newsletter in a month.
“The Kit Kat Strategy”
Step 1: Identify a big project
Step 2: Break it into 4 parts
Step 3: Take one part - try to tackle it.
Step 4: feel overwhelmed? Repeat steps 2-3.
Example: perhaps you want to start a newsletter but feel overwhelmed.
Break it into 4 parts.
- landing page
- content strategy
- template
- welcome email
Now let’s say you take the landing page and feel overwhelmed by that.
Break it into 4 parts.
- copy
- design
- connections
- images
Now let’s say you are overwhelmed with the copy….break it down again.
- Hero copy
- value props
- UGC
- FAQs
Eventually you get the project small enough where it feels manageable and you can build momentum.
Momentum > Completion
Hope this is helpful!
You eat one amazing peach then spend the rest of your life buying lousy peaches trying to repeat the experience. Forever chasing that peach dragon; that’s how good it was.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but you are doing amazing juggling all life is throwing at you.
You continue to navigate the headwinds and fight to get to the next destination.
Proud of you.
It doesn’t matter the size or division of the athletic dept. It’s everywhere. And it’s not worth it. There are major conversations that will forever stick in my brain as to why the college athletics system is broken.
I'm not saying you should quit your job in sports... but I am saying after a death in my family this week, realizing how many photos I'm not in, because "you weren't there, you had a game" "you had to travel that day" .......... leave your job :) find balance :) life is better :)
It feels as though we’ve replaced the girl boss era with the healthy girl era…
Ice baths, Gua sha, sober and supplements.
What remained?
Perfectionism.
A binary lens of living.
The era we need will give space for the gray areas of life.
We are ANDs not ORs.
To want success AND set boundaries.
To honor your body AND enjoy treats.
To want to be tough at work and soft at home.
We need a name for this.
Many people lead you to believe successful people do the things they say all the time.
But the actual secret?
Grace
Life is not lived in binary structures.
The quicker you give yourself grace for taking a break or slacking
the quicker you will jump back in and keep progressing forward.
I used to hide the fact that I wanted kids or loved being a mom and wanted a partner.
It felt too “soft” or “traditional” for the other goals I had professionally and the progress I was pushing for as a post divorce woman.
Then I realized we are not binary.
We live in the gray.
Every day I slip fluidly from assertive business mode to maternal caregiver.
One does not detract from the other.
It’s ok to want or be both.
