@ShouryankC I agree, listening to the records definitely makes it easier, but the experience you get from a live performance and the social aspect of it all is definitely unmatched. #S22POPMUS

@erinjbungay I completely agree! I also believe that hearing songs you enjoy while being surrounded by others who enjoy them is a really great experience that I believe can't be achieved by simply listening to the recordings. #S22POPMUS

I believe that new technology such as auto-tune makes recordings more enjoyable, but I can see how a live performance might be unpleasant if it sounds drastically different from the recording.  #S22POPMUS

@KimKimgrady2565 #S22POPMUS I agree with you! It is so important to comprehend and educate ourselves on cultural theft in music, as well as the detrimental effects it can have on the authenticity of musical forms from other cultures. I feel like by knowing this, it'll all be less likely to occur!

[Kelly Bennett @Kbennettt19]

@UpshallJessica2 I agree, it must be acknowledged so that history does not repeat itself! #S22POPMUS

#S22POPMUS Schlock music, in my opinion, is a significant issue in music history. There were many things about Schlock that were incorrect, but it can be used to enhance our knowledge of music history and culture.

@Sydneycpaul #S22POPMUS Hey, Sydney! I also had the same interpretation as to why Ray Charles used a breaking voice in his music. The breaks undoubtedly let listeners know about his deep connection to the lyrics and allowed them to understand his emotions towards the lyrics!

[Kelly Bennett @Kbennettt19]

@erinjbungay Hey, Erin! I agree, and I believe that Charles' use of a breaking voice offered a sense of individuality that helped him stand out from other popular musicians! #S22POPMUS

[Kelly Bennett @Kbennettt19]

Ray Charles, I believe, used a cracking voice to show his passion for his music. I believe he used the breaks to perfectly match the words to his genuine emotions. This, I believe, helped to distinguish his music and make it more relatable to others.

[Kelly Bennett @Kbennettt19]

@Sydneycpaul Yes exactly, these apps have definitely made it a lot easier to listen to a variety of different kinds of music! #S22POPMUS

[Kelly Bennett @Kbennettt19]

Music apps like Apple Music and Spotify have allowed me to broaden my musical horizons in terms of what I listen to on a regular basis. Because of these apps, I am able to listen to a variety of music genres unlike in the past. #S22POPMUS

[Kelly Bennett @Kbennettt19]

@KimKimgrady2565 Yes for sure! I've discovered a lot of new musicians thanks to Tik Tok, and I wouldn't have known about them if it weren't for the app, as well as many other music streaming applications! I appreciate how simple it is to listen to a wide variety of music nowadays. #S22POPMUS

[Kelly Bennett @Kbennettt19]

I don't think it's fair to assume popular music is dumbed down because, in my opinion, music is versatile and can appeal to a wide range of individuals depending on their preferred genre, the meanings of the lyrics, how the lyrics can relate to people, and so on. #S22POPMUS
