@britthomewood I agree with this so many times you can even see a video of an artist live and not even recognize it is them singing therefore I belive artist need to tone down on the autotune to avoid disappointing fans who spends money to see them
@ShouryankC I personally believe this is not always true as I know I rarely listen to music however I’ll never turn down the chance to see someone play live as the experience of seeing someone outweights the clarity of the music in my opinion
Autotune has become increasingly popular it has the capability to completely change how the artist sounds, when someone sees an artist live they can sound different, this doesn’t diminish from the experience of live music & people enjoy seeing artist for the experience #S22POPMUS
@Kayleigh8894 If we brush over the past than we will be destined to make the same mistakes over! however many artist sample from songs currently and if it’s done openly, legally and there is permission from the original party (artist or person who owns copyright) I do not see a problem
@UpshallJessica2 I agree! If the original artist is given the proper credit that they deserve and the original music is used as an inspiration I see no issue we see this a lot with mainstream music with a lot of songs having a sample of another song in them
Although “schlock” music has many negative connotations associated with it we should not completely dismiss it and when the artist is probably credited and appreciated “schlock” music can be useful as artist often take inspiration from other songs to create their own #S22POPMUS
@svernb There is no doubt that Ray Charles’ use of breaking voices helps you to feel how he does throughout the song. While listening you are able to feel like you connect with him and the lyrics on an emotional level
@ShouryankC I agree using breaking voices shows how true and raw the lyrics are and that the writer/singer is being transparent with their listeners about their emotions
Ray Charles uses a breaking voice in order to convey and express his emotions and feelings for us to understand his connection to the lyrics. This signifies a heartfelt connection to the lyrics and helps to understand Ray Charles’ feelings towards the lyrics he wrote. #S22POPMUS
@kona_miura When I’m public I prefer to wear my headphones (especially when working out) and I can’t hear and worry about what’s going on around me so like you said I like to shut off outside and just focus on me and having earbuds with music makes that possible
@Kbennettt19 I agree with you having these apps around up at all times has helped me also in order to learn and listen to the type of music I like versus when I was younger we only listened to what was popular on the radio or tv
I have seen how we listen to music change. We had CD players, then to auxiliary cords now we have Bluetooth so we can listen from our favourite streaming platforms. Having Bluetooth players in your car has become a status symbol and any other way is seen as poor . #S22POPMUS
@fick_nudge I agree with your stance on this opinion. Pop music makes people believe that this is the "norm" in society when reality these "norms" only usually apply to the rich and elite.
@tajsquires I agree with your opinion completely. Some pop music can be dumbed down and create a stereotype for all pop music however in reality pop music can convey such a wonderful message that people can relate to.
Most music talks about living glamourous -unattainable- lifestyles and it creates a need for people to strive toward that false need for an unattainable life. However, I do not believe pop music is always dumbed down as some artists address serious societal issues. #S22POPMUS
