I haven't been able to sit at my desk and work today.
Electric power has been going out every 5-10 minutes since this morning.
@KenyaPower's incompetence is now a joke taken too far.
My office landlord has given me the go-ahead to install solar.
Enough is enough!
"Another definition of modernity: conversations can be more and more completely reconstructed with clips from other conversations taking place at the same time on the planet." - Nassim Nicholas Taleb in The Bed of Procrustes https://t.co/gfx7MU8aDt
Abraham Lincoln's Young Men in Lyceum:
Let the law become the political religion of the nation, and let the old and the young, the rich and the poor, the grave and the gay, of all sexes and tongues, colours and condition Sacrifice unceasingly upon its altars

If you walk around New York, you will find a good number of food shops known as ‘delis’. I did not know they were fancy but their formal definition gives off fancy —
“A deli (short for delicatessen) is a store or market that sells fine, exotic, or prepared foods, like specialty cheeses, cured meats, sandwiches, and ready-to-eat meals.”
Niko hapo “cured meats”. In a deli you will find meat that has been soaked in honey to cure it. Ham and turkey meat is glazed with honey — that transforms it into a very well priced product — that people visiting New York will pay quite some cash to enjoy.
Now so many of us don’t know that in traditional African cuisine, honey was used to cure meat and preserve it. In kikuyu, the delicacy is known as “rukuri”, meat soaked in pure raw honey.
While you can find rukuri in New York’s delicatessens, it is no where to be found in Nairobi and other Kenyan cities.
It is our turn to name and price what we have.

The "job" is the only thing that keeps humans from hanging themselves. For most, freedom is a deadly disease. In the words of Goethe, “Anything that liberates our spirit without raising us to a greater mastery of ourselves, corrupts us."
During Roman times, children's educators were usually slaves. Nothing has changed. The principal thing a slave can teach children is how to not be free and make the best of it. In other words, how to think like a slave.

And no, most humans do NOT want to be liberated from monotonous tasks, except for (parts of) the weekend. Most want the soothing predictability of a schedule, even those who call themselves "adventurers".
HEALTH: The Nation of the Sick.
Hospitals are full, yet health is absent.
We celebrate new cancer centres while ignoring the lifestyles that cause cancer.
Our people are dying from sugar, obesity, stress, and indiscipline.
Kenyans are dying from diseases of comfort and neglect.
Men are collapsing before 40, women are dying in childbirth, and our youth are medicating anxiety with drugs.
We have built a health industry, not a healthy society.
Kenya is a sick nation pretending to be modern.

When men win, watu wako kwa circle yake uskia fiti i.e parents, siblings, wife, children & friends Et al.
MAKE MEN GREAT AGAIN!
I dislike the v. idea of monarchy & being a "subject", even if cosmetic. But experience shows that, just as w/religion, when you remove kings, you tend to get something vastly worse (nature abhores a vacuum).
Removing the king is like bulldozing museums.
Pple don't get Burke.
The main purpose of religion, I wrote in the Incerto, is not to affirm that there is a God, but to prevent humans from thinking they are Gods.
Likewise the purpose of a modern king is not to rule, but to prevent politicians & office climbers from thinking that they are kings.
The body transfers working mitochondria to help heal diseased cells.
Guess what promotes mitochondrial biogenesis?
FASTING.
Fasting increases the expression and activation of signals that tell the cell to build new mitochondria when energy demand shifts.
