The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel. To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect. Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life.
This merger has real consequences for real people, and for the entire country. Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle’s business built on data, surveillance technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.
I’ve not seen a masterclass away in Europe this good since Roy Keane v Juventus

The BBC does know how to write a headline with certainty. Recall they ran a headline reading: "Hamas raped and mutilated women on 7 October." They later acknowledged they had no forensic evidence or video or photographs or anything else remotely conclusive to back up that headline, despite 10/7 being the most-filmed attack ever.
Now when a Palestinian is raped at length on video, and extensive medical documentation exists to attest to the attack, the BBC calls it "alleged abuse."
Details of the assessment that led West Midlands police to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending a football match in Birmingham next month have been leaked to the Guardian.
They unequivocally show that police feared the Israeli club's fans would be the ones to instigate violence.
Starmer misrepresented the police assessments to demand that the ban be reversed. It is inconceivable that he was not aware of the police intelligence.
1. Dutch police told British counterparts that the Maccabi fans were behind the trouble in Amsterdam last year.
2. A source with inside knowledge of the police assessments said: “The biggest risk was always the extreme Maccabi fans who want to fight.”
3. A huge Dutch police effort, involving 5,000 officers across three days, was needed to quell the trouble.
4. According to a community impact assessment by West Midlands police, members of the Jewish community were among those who wanted the Maccabi fans banned.
5. So severe was the risk, police believed that at least 1,500 to 2,000 specialist riot police officers would need to be drafted in from around the country to cope with the Maccabi fans, at a minimum cost of £6million.
Starmer knew all this. So why did he effectively accuse the police of antisemitism and overrule their decision?
Who else has he been falsely accusing of antisemitism?

‘We’re not banning them because they’re Jewish, it’s because they’re hooligans…’ is the risible defence for the MT ban from people who know nothing about football or hooliganism, but are desperate not to acknowledge or admit their own racism. This is a stain on Britain.
We’re now in a place where our own safety doesn’t mean shit, & are in fact, 2nd class citizens to Israelis, who our entire political & media Class, including our own Prime minister, will demand be above British law, to be as violent & Racist as they wish on the streets of Britain
I am Dutch and I think that it’s shameful that the @BBC and other large media outlets are framing the banning of Macabi football fans as antisemitism.
When they were in Amsterdam, they were behaving like hooligans, assaulting people and chanting death to Arabs. Thats why we threw them into the canals.
They are a threat to national security. Grow some fucking spines, journalists, and do your jobs.
As the British media and political establishments now clutch their pearls in unison over the ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans at the Aston Villa game, and also antisemitically conflate Israelis with all Jews, a reminder of who these Israeli football fans are:
What's extraordinary about this story is the Israelis didn't even bother to remove evidence of execution - bound hands, blindfolds - before handing the bodies back.
Impunity.
Israel has such complete surveillance and control of Gaza's communications networks that it can commandeer them to force their phones to broadcast Netanyahu's speech, but Israel had no clue that Hamas was planning an operation as large as Oct 7 and it then took hours to respond?
