Our new paper out in @SchizBulletin found & replicated 4 distinct cognitive profiles in schizophrenia. Subtypes consists of a “less impaired” subtype, two “intermediate cognitive impairment” subtypes differentiated by executive function, & “globally impaired” subtype.

This 4-profile cognitive solution showed stability across time. CFA revealed cognitive profiles are better explained by distinct profiles rather than a severity continuum.

Caveats: The lack of association between our Asian UHR cohort with other psychiatric traits may be due to differing ancestry & sample size of the training & target datasets. Further studies are warranted for replication.

Excited to share our new work on the psychometrics of social cognitive measures in an Asian schizophrenia sample.
Huge thanks to Sara-Ann Lee, Amy Pinkham, @maxzylam , Jimmy Lee for this!

Our findings partially replicated SCOPE's where BLERT & ER40 showed best psychometrics. However, its premature to exclude tasks with poor psychometrics for further evaluation as cultural modifications/adaptations may be required (7/8)
