@Theo_Gessese@tylerfaye_ It doesn't portray the same argument at all, it reiterates itself especially if you don't believe/perceive that there is a difference. If you can put yourself in someone in a particular situations shoes, it's easier to understand why a label, even w small nuance is important.
@Theo_Gessese@tylerfaye_ Right it's what i associate with it. that's the exact point of diction: you look at words with their denotation as well as what they connotate TO YOU and because you have your individual perception of a word (which is just a symbol) you can use it to portray different things.
@Theo_Gessese@tylerfaye_ It's the significance of word choice...Yes both refer to the same exact thing but Saying you are a victim is placing blame and making yourself helpless. Saying you are a survivor means you didn't let what happened control the narrative, you overcame.
one of the funniest things was when Erykah badu spent an hour telling dj akademiks he reminded her of someone but was really just slowly revealing that he looks like jerry the mouse from tom and jerry https://t.co/jhGaqNMAEa
@_WordSmiff_@Juhberry I'm not talking about the cultures specifically, I'm talking about word usage in general and how it serves to distinguish one thing from another. Black ppl calling themselves, being called, or correcting what they're called is just an example of why word choice has power. Dassit
