It’s unbelievable that the USDA is choosing to let millions of Americans go without SNAP benefits on November 1st when there is a $5–6 BILLION contingency reserve sitting untouched for this exact type of emergency. That money is REAL. It exists right now.

Grocery stores will feel this too. Shelves don’t sell to people who suddenly can’t afford food. Local economies will take a hit.This is preventable.

We can argue about spending, policy riders, foreign aid, but nobody should use FOOD as a hostage.

@EPSedlock @georgetubman @acnewsitics @elonmusk Yeah, but the way I see it was the budget allocates for foreign advisories. There is other pieces of the budget that goes to domestic problems like Fema for instance. The spending for USAID wasn't the problem imo
