We are saddened by the death of @TomLaBonge. Forever known as "Mr. Los Angeles," he was instrumental in the initial instillation of the lane reconfiguration on Rowena.
His actions on Rowena saved lives.

COVID rates are higher now than they were in March. This holiday season:
- Stay home whenever possible
- Keep celebrations on phone or video chat with people you don’t live with
- Watch Religious services online or on TV
- Always wear a mask
- Keep 6 ft distance from others
Check out this website created by a group of local Silver Lake high school students to memorialize the “Say Their Names” installation around the Silver Lake Reservoir.

.@TomatoPieLA has awesome pizza & is consistently one of the most generous donors to local schools. Let's return the favor tomorrow night (Wednesday) by ordering delicious pizza and showing them that #bikesmeanbusiness. Don't forget to mention #sunset4all!
Silver Lake Together, a so-called advocacy group, just sent out a newsletter calling for police enforcement against people sleeping in their vehicles and for LAPD to patrol Silver Lake Blvd. You can call them out on their racist actions here: https://t.co/KNFt3cveqJ
A person was killed by driver who was speeding and weaving around cars on W. Silver Lake Blvd.
Our streets are lethal by design.
Fewer cars on the road yet fatalities are increasing.

Remember the good old days when cut-through traffic on Angus was being used as a reason by #trafficsafetydeniers to undo the traffic calming safety measures on Rowena?
Here’s a photo of Angus from yesterday at 5:30 pm.

@MayorOfLA There are now more people walking, running and on bikes than people driving cars in the streets of LA. Let’s configure our streets to reflect that. Oakland is closing 74 miles of streets to vehicular traffic - we have no excuse not to do the same.
LADOT has contacted us for help in identifying streets where trash cans frequently block the bike lane. They've created a Google form to collect this information and ask for your submissions by Friday April 3. Remember, this is only for City of LA. Thanks https://t.co/YBouor6hLT
As many of you saw, we lost another young life due to traffic violence yesterday, a 12 year old. That's 18 ppl so far this year. I've drafted a quick email you can send to
@CurrenDPriceJr, but feel free to tweak and send to
@MayorOfLA or @LADOTofficial. https://t.co/i0GPmCkyjC
This is three blocks from my home. 😢
Thing is, the signage is the max that LADOT will do without requiring a traffic signal. However, if the speed limit on this street was only 5 MPH slower (25 instead of 30), this could be a simple stop sign.
Instead, this.
C’mon, LA.
The morning of 2/11 a 50 year old woman was struck by a hit and run driver while in the crosswalk at Lyman and Fountain.
@LAPDHQ only regards this as a crime because the driver did not “stop and render aid”.
Nevermind that the victim was legally crossing in a crosswalk.
