"Someone asked me, 'Have you seen Allah?'
I said, ''Yes, many times.''
They said, 'When?'
I said, ''When He concealed my faults, provided for me, granted me well being, guided me, and when He gave me food and drink, and sent help when I needed it"

Bismillaahi Rahmani Raheem.
Praise be to Allaah (Lord of the universe)
๐Washing the deceased is Fard Kifayah (Collective Obligation)* The martyr's (shahid during Islamic battle), or body should not be washed at all but be buried as it is.
๐ Males should take the responsibility of washing males, and females should wash females. Husband can wash his wife and vice versa, parents can wash children irrespective of sex. Aโishah said: โIf we could go back and change anything, no one would have washed the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) but his wives.โ
Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) left instructions in his will that he should be washed by his wife Asmaaโ bint Umays, and she did that.
Abu Moosa was washed by his wife Umm โAbd-Allaah.
(Sunan Abu Dawood)
๐ Those who will take responsibility for washing the dead should be of the same gender as the deceased, be an adult Muslim, honest and trustworthy person who fear Allah, be the most knowledgeable of the procedures of Ghusl and be able to carry out the ghusl, and preferably from immediate family member of the deceased.
๐ It should be washed in a clean, secluded, and private place where clean water and soap are available. Gloves or the like must always be worn when handling and washing the deceased.
๐ The body of the deceased should be placed on a table or alike.
๐ The body should be laid out, the deceasedโs clothes should be removed and its joints loosened gently, if possible.
๐ The private parts of the deceased should be covered with a sheet of cloth, the aura of a male is between the navel and the knees in the presence of males, for the female is the same in the presence of females.
๐The head and the upper body should be raised slightly, and the stomach should be pressed to expel any remaining impurities, and with gloves (or the likes) the washer should clean away any impurities from the covered private parts, then dispose of the gloves.
๐ A rag or cloth should be used to wash the body and the washing should begin with the places on the right side of the body washed during wudhu.
WASHING PROPER
๐The washer should start washing by saying: โBismillahโ (In the name of Allaah)
๐ The washer should perform wudhu (ablution) for the deceased without inserting the water in the nose and mouth but by cleaning it with a wet rag or cotton wool.
๐ The washer should clean the body with water and soap (if available), starting from the head (hair, face and beard in men).
๐ Then from the upper right side of the body to the toe, then the upper left side of the body to the toe. (OR from the upper right side of the body, then the upper left side of the body, after that the lower right side then the lower left).
๐ The washing should be done three times, five times, or seven times, as needed, providing that after washing the head, wash the right side before the left, and the upper parts before the lower ones. And the final washing should have some perfume in it, such as camphor or the like.
๐ The body should then be dried and the hair combed out. In the case of women, the hair should be plaited into three braids, one from the front and two from the sides and placed behind her head.
Narrated by Um Atiyah (may Allaah be pleased with her): โ When the daughter of The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) died, he instructed us: Wash her three times, or more than that if you feel it is necessary, with water and Sidr (good smelling leaves), and then after the last wash apply some camphor to the body, then loosen her hair, wash it, comb it, and make it in three braids laid behind her back โ
