My mother always had a Saturday morning mood.
There was a perceptible dark cloud of rage around her every Saturday. She glared, slammed things around, chastised us about our rooms.
It was only as an adult that I realised that she worked full-time & hated housework inequity.
Planet Fitness locations are “offering anyone impacted by the fires—first responders & residents—free access to shower, recharge, and relax”
No membership is required to take advantage of locker rooms, WiFi, charging stations at any LA County location not impacted by the fires.
@ZLevyMD@PrincessBravato@UHC It appears that @UHC willingly engages in killing its customers. We need a class action lawsuit against them and we need to fight for laws to stop them. Their greed is killing people.
This American has Stage 4 cancer and there is no cure
She has insurance but she just received a letter from her health insurance that they are not covering her treatment
“One chemo session costs $15,000”
“My doctor confirmed that I got approval from my insurance company before I started the chemo. I've been on it for a few months now — The insurance company suddenly decided that they're not going to cover the treatments anymore”
She has to get this $15,000 treatment “once every 3 weeks”
“Honestly, this letter feels like a threat. It feels like my life is being threatened and saying, we will not pay for your life-saving treatment feels like a threat on my life.”
We need to share these stories because one day this could be any of us
We need SERIOUS reform of our healthcare industry in America

Michigan, we need to talk.
Your healthcare system is a masterclass in what happens when a few big players run the show.
Let’s start with the health systems pulling the strings:
1.Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum and Beaumont—remember that)
2.Trinity Health Michigan
3.Henry Ford Health System
4.Ascension Michigan
These giants dominate the market, and guess what? It’s you—the patients and employers—who pay the price.
They don’t compete; they crush.
Add Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan,
which runs the insurance game,
and you have a system designed to bleed you dry.
Oh, and then there’s the Certificate of Need (CON) laws.
Want a new surgery center or hospital to lower prices and provide options? Not so fast.
CON laws require state approval, conveniently protecting the big guys and blocking new competition.
The result?
Your premiums are sky-high,
your options are nonexistent,
and Michigan families and
businesses are footing the bill.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Competition works.
Transparency works.
Michigan deserves better.
Get rid of the grifters who built the system and demand change.
Enough is enough.

@LolOverruled@PplsCityCouncil As a former employee it’s 😂 they can spend $ on surveillance of social media but last year they gave us $25 gift cards for Christmas and rescinded them that afternoon 🫠
Agree but he didn’t lie. Biden changed his mind when Trump won, promised revenge on the Biden family and named Bondi and Patel as enforcers who will carry out his threat. After all these years of investigations, Trump has no worthy case. Now he can proceed without any. Pardon protects against that.
The H5N1 outbreaks in the U.S. are no longer isolated incidents 🧵
Human cases in California and Missouri appear to share the same clade, B3.13.
This link raises the possibility of a novel transmission pathway.

@bureaucatliu Seriously, are people just learning this? Nearly every other first-world country has universal healthcare, paid for with taxes, and their citizens are appalled when they learn about the US “system” bankrupting people and profiting from pain and fear.
Remember how in the eighties, everyone mistook the fact that the first cluster of patients with AIDS were all gay men, to mean that only gay men could get it, so they didn't connect the dots when people getting blood transfusions fell ill until a few more years went by? 🧵
Last week, I reached out to 20 churches seeking housing for a homeless pregnant woman (20) and her boyfriend (21), who also need housing & parenting support. Only one responded thus far, saying they only help people involved in their church.
