@SheepEtiquette@squidslayernate Competitively yeah there's nothing that would save it, but in game wise you could definitely work with Huge Power and attack investment.
Might be able to make something work with Moody if the right support moves were added to its moveset.
@im5hex@drawnpointe@CanariFeetLover True, but that only accounts for some of what the frontier offered. The bigger issue is that the last game to even bother with a Tower was in gen 8. Seems that they want to funnel players into raids and online battles, which isn't really what I'm looking for
In Mario Party, minigame descriptions treat being eliminated merely as being out of the game, except for Bumper Balls, which shifts the tone by stating the winner is the last one left alive. This implies that while other minigames might be for fun, Bumper Balls is to the death.
@ElPikminMaster@robotkisser9000 This is consistent with how they've written the Mega lore since XY, btw.
But like...they didn't HAVE to write it that way. Adhering so strictly to it limits what they can do creatively. A rule they made up is blocking them from doing megas they clearly wanted to do, lol.
Mick Foley recalls a phone call from someone high up in WWE after he announced he wouldn’t be associated with the company anymore:
“The first [call] was, ‘I respect your stance and I’ll tell the people in charge.’ And then I did receive a call from someone really high up, I don’t know if he wants me to mention his name. But he was saying, ‘Well, Paul [Levesque] is just on the physical fitness group they have. And Linda [McMahon] hasn’t worked in WWE in x amount of years.’
And I said, ‘Well, theoretically that’s the case, but I could’ve sworn I saw Paul behind the president’s shoulder when he was making policy.’ Whether Linda’s been working for the company or not, her last name is McMahon and she’s associated with the company. And then I said, ‘Come on. Five people in the Oval Office took the Stunner.’
And so he appreciated it. He did say he respected it. I didn’t close the door forever. I said in my announcement as long as this man is in office. I think more and more people are realizing that some of the things he’s doing are just cruelty for the sake of cruelty and enriching himself.”

Feels like people only like the Delta Episode for Lore™️ reasons and the free Deoxys it hands you over any actual gameplay reason. It's genuinely just an hour of flying around, getting dialogue dumped at you, and then having a few painfully easy battles thrown at you.
@drawnpointe@CanariFeetLover And the online ladder, while enjoyable in its own right, is NOT a substitute for the in-game facilities. Sometimes I just want to build fun teams and run the gauntlet against the CPU.
@drawnpointe@CanariFeetLover The BP grind in the old games genuinely did suck, but the Frontier was an additional challenge meant to be enjoyed for its own sake. I'd rather see that idea iterated and improved upon rather than cut out entirely.
I can name two reasons why Skyla is more popular 👀
(the actual reason is literally just that the other two are underutilized, Kahili imo would be pretty popular if they actually DID anything with her)
"It only just came to my head that Electric has 3 female type-specialists now in Elesa, Iono, and Canari, yet they all managed to be popular with none of them significantly forgotten in favor of the other(s). Whereas say Flying is the opposite where all eyes are on Skyla."
Attention all Gen 5 gamers! The Pokémon Dream World is in grave danger and needs your help to be restored to its former glory! To do this, all it needs is your help with development for translation and coding, or your Flash Cache on your old computer.
Honestly though I just don't let it bother me. When you have been playing Pokemon for as long as I have, eventually you're gonna want to experience some novelty. Trying out Pokemon and team compositions I haven't used before has improved my opinion on quite a few Pokemon.
I half wonder if the "never box your starter" crowd replay the games beyond the initial run. I have a forever save in HG where my Feraligatr stays on the team, but if I'm playing through my SS then I'm not gonna feel obligated to keep every Totodile I pick...
"Abandoning" your starter in pokemon gotta be one of the weirdest things ever to been seen as a negative cuz why with so many pokemon options to choose from are you gonna stunt ur options for a super unique team and always have a 1 of 3 pokemon the rest of the world has too
@Rants_NAIR The reaction to it has been odd. Maybe the title and thumbnail were too dismissive and inflammatory, but Joe is responding as if blisy put in 0 work to make their website.
I LOVE KANTO
addendum: if there was a category for "Best Soundtrack" or "Best Starters" I'd have Gen 5 and Gen 7 in those. But *favorite* starters, sorry pal I was a 90s kid.
Saying the devs didn't intend for it is a crazy take. Kanto is very intentionally set up to open up once you get through Rock Tunnel, and all you need to do to realize that's the case is taking a look at the map.
