Parkour training has extended to the ES! G5’s working on their vaults: safety, speed, turn, 360 and lazy vaults. Doing a great job problem solving, embracing challenge and assessing their personal level of risk! #SFS1912#LTAD#PYPPE@Parkour4Schools
This one is a long time planning with @B_Sheridan and @hompo, schools “digital ecosystems” with LMS as a key component should be at the forefront of conversations of school leaders as we transition to post pandemic education. I think we have something pretty cool on offer here!
The test of integrity isn't how often you shift your stance. It’s why you change your mind.
Revising your words to gain approval is flip-flopping. Rethinking your views based on new facts is learning.
Integrity isn't fidelity to your beliefs. It's fidelity to seeking the truth.

Problem solving @ISLuxembourg:
1) Acknowledge the emotions (can’t go forward otherwise); 2) Identify the problem(s)—write them down; 3) Identify possible causes; 4) Brainstorm possible actions; 5) Identify specific actions to be taken; 6) Follow through!

As a qualifier... there is "near" transfer, within domains in similar situations, and "far" transfer to novel situations and (sometimes) across domains. The challenge: Far transfer is difficult to achieve and domain-knowledge matters. Nonetheless, transfer is a most worthy goal!
To assess summatively doesn't mean giving a formal assessment. To do it well is to use all the information we have, formal and informal, so summarize what a student learned. #LeadInclusion#sblchat#atassessment#tg2chat#masterychat
iCivics just launched a new Primary Sources website. This new resource supports K–12 educators in engaging their students in learning experiences using primary source materials. Supported by a Library of Congress grant, this wonderful resource is FREE. https://t.co/6s7peiHpoz
The#2 change I want to see in schools is the elimination of "work" and "working. Students aren't "working" and they don't submit "work." They are "learning,", do "learning activities, and submit "evidence of learning." Disappointed to see "work" appear so often tonight. #sblchat
A5: As I always say, "Not every moment of feedback has to be epic!" Feedback in the form of questions, cues, prompts, & highlights can direct students to what's next while causing them to do the thinking; again, quality over quantity is most effective with feedback #ATAssessment
A3: One of my fav quotes...
"The formative and summative purposes of assessment can be so intertwined that they are mutually supportive rather than conflicting." -Paul Black (2013)

A3: Does not have to be an event. It can authentically be a moment where a teacher considers all evidence to determine the degree to which a student has met the learning goal(s); it's primarily a "purpose" not a thing. #ATAssessment
