@EnvAgencyMids teams continue to check, maintain, operate and repair our pump stations, flood banks, gates and doors. This is important work, as it ensures assets continue to work. Our teams are complying with the latest Public Health England advice #SocialDistancing
Environment Agency Field Teams continue to undertake #maintenance & #operation activities on critical #flood#risk management assets all over the country. In #Yorkshire we continue to protect communities at risk from flooding, working alongside our professional partners #teamwork
My last visit as #Ops Manager for @EnvAgencyMids, so pleased to be able to see 2 of the 6 new pumps at #Keadby pumping station, side by side with the 81yr old pumps. The old pumps are being decommissioned one by one, to ensure we are able to maintain pumping capacity.
Beautiful sunny #autumn morning for filming from our pumping station in #Matlock where the Bentley brook meets the #RiverDerwent
@PaulReevesEA explains how the station works & gives details of work done since the winter 19/20 floods.
Details of the broadcast date coming soon!
The @EnvAgencyMids project at #Hemington#Leicestershire is now underway. We are removing around 400 tonnes of silt from the brook through the village to improve capacity and reduce #floodrisk. Please stay well clear of our contractors and machinery. @floodps
Our contractors are carrying out final preparations on the #Hemington Brook in #Leicestershire. Further #CCTV of several culverted sections together with checks for other services and pipe connections is needed prior to the start on the de-silt work on Monday.
We’re out checking and clearing debris screens in the @EnvAgency patch today. Our screens prevent debris from being carried into covered/restricted parts of watercourse. We check/clear screens routinely to reduce #floodrisk#TeamEA#Friday

My favourite part of my job is getting out on site with our @EnvAgencyMids Ops teams and seeing first hand how they help reduce flood risk to people and property across #EastMidlands. Today’s site is a repair on a section of one of the tidal Trent’s major flood banks.
@Taff_Towers Hi, this pump is used for moving river water to help reduce flood risk to people and property in the Isle of Axholme and #Doncaster, nothing to do with sewage. Thanks
Yesterday saw another milestone met in the delivery of @EnvAgencyMids Keadby Pumping Station with the first run of the newly installed Pump 1. Site testing and commissioning will continue over the next two weeks to fine tune and test the pump’s operation.
These 2 pumps will be able to fill an Olympic swimming pool in approx. 5 minutes! These are the first 2 of 6 pumps to be installed. The remaining 4 pumps will be delivered and installed by year end. Whilst the renewal is underway the existing pumps remain available for duty
An exciting milestone for #Keadby pump station renewal project! 2 of the 6 new pumps have arrived onsite ready for installation. @EnvAgency are continuing to deliver all of our #Flood and Coastal Risk projects where it is safe for our teams and delivery partners to do so.
A busy weekend for #TeamEA helping keep folk safe from #StormAlex - we start the week with 25 flood warnings still in force but an improving weather picture. As the storm season begins what better time to sign up to our free flood warnings here https://t.co/gfaL38C2kU
Good to see work on the ground for the #Lowdham#flood alleviation scheme. Trial pits and boreholes to test the ground materials will help us know how we can construct a dam to hold back flood water. Ecologists on site checking environmental risks #TeamEA @LoucresswellEA
The @EnvAgencyMids#Derbyshire field team have just started work at #Ambaston. We are reinstating the #flood defence level over a 230 metre stretch of earth bank. This is following the November 2019 floods on the #RiverDerwent when some low points were observed.
Great progress is being made on the £35m upgrade of Keadby Pumping Station in #NorthLincolnshire. The new electrical building has been powered up this week while work on the pumps continues. Overall the project will help protect some 15,000 homes from #flooding
Out in Derbyshire today. First stop Knowleston Pumping station nr Matlock. Levels in the Bentley Brook very different than during the Nov 2019 floods- the pumping station kept pumping over 300 bath tubs a second of water throughout the flood due the great work of the local team!
Our Field Teams are out clearing debris from screens across the #NorthEast and #Yorkshire - including this one in Acomb, #Northumberland - as the heavy rain and windy weather continues. Check our #flood warning service for the latest: https://t.co/OVBXgMPY7J #StormFrancis
Our contractors are working hard at #Tideswell#Derbyshire removing a wall and trees in preparation for starting to expose the brook culvert next week. This project will help to secure a long term reduction in #Floodrisk for the area. Stay tuned for more updates. 📸 #AMCO
Our #Derbyshire field team have been busy clearing a large amount of debris from the #Spondon Sluices on the #RiverDerwent. We need to remove blockages that collect on our structures like this to prevent damage and minimise #floodrisk#TeamEA
