@can Yes, and we have grown up with sports that have measurable progression and/or precise timing. Soccer lacks both. Baseball and football have the first. Football, basketball, and hockey have the second. Only basketball has guaranteed high scoring.

@can Not really, no. It's not the lack of scoring, but the lack of measurable progression. In baseball and American football, those measurements are plays (at-bats, outs, downs). Precise timekeeping is the other issue, which soccer could easily solve (like hockey) but doesn't.
