Our friends @cinecity_bton are back for a very special 18th edition - they’re collaborating with film festivals across the country to present @amplifyfilm an exciting new online festival. This new Keith Haring doc part of the great line up!#AMPLIFYfilm https://t.co/VAAE8kbImL
LOVERS ROCK - Ok technically part of Steve McQueen's SMALL AXE TV drama anthology (dropping on the BBC next month!) this mesmerising film which takes place over one night at a house party superbly acts as a microcosm for teen love, angst & racial tension in 80's notting hill.
The power of film shines on. There may not have been physical events of our favourite film festivals this year but we still enjoyed many of the treats from their digital editions. Here are our top picks - Top: NOMADLAND, Middle: GAGARINE, Bottom: LOVERS ROCK, details in thread
GAGARINE - a striking & distinctive French debut as a young man creatively employs his obsession with space travel in an attempt to save his housing estate from demolition @CurzonCinemas hopefully releasing next year in cinemas
Here's a little spotify playlist of tunes featured in or by artists from the film ahead of our DOWNTOWN 81 screening tomorrow. Enjoy! https://t.co/D8WNyPwADz
