You built a house in Kericho.
Months later, during the heavy rains, the client calls.
You assume they want to give you another project.
Instead they say:
"The house collapsed."
But you handed over the building more than a year ago.
So... are you still liable?

Going forward, Uasin Gishu parents will be told, "We cannot discuss the matter that is before the court!" The case will either go on for years, or with time, ODPP say "We didn't find HONOURABLE Mandago criminally liable..." Then we move on to 2027 where he will be Senator again!
Before judging anyone joining #Worldcoin - scanning their iris for free cryptocurrency, consider 3 takes on why 'privacy' doesn't matter to many right now.
1. Most people don't care about "privacy" - particularly when you observe their behaviour. People here are already generating so much data (on their phones, online, and social media) that they're open to opportunities to get anything in return. What they don't want is to be surprised. Disagree? Read this: https://t.co/smpXVEHI7k
2. Increasingly, privacy, will evolve into a class (warfare) issue. This pits those that can 'afford' privacy (living without trading their data) and those that must do it to survive. Sounds like a lot, but we predicted this in 2018 in a @nendo254 report, with different consequences. https://t.co/iNnh18vpCg (2019 Nendo State of Mobile Data report).
3. Kenyans, particularly, tend to be inquisitive, curious, and early-adopters of finance, tech, crypto, and other new-to-market ideas. So much so that many have fallen victim and prey to get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid schemes, and ponzi schemes. Source: various (could assemble a list, but there's billions lost here over the past decades at different levels of sophistication).
Finally, the depressed economic environment means that if people can go through this exercise and get paid for it (and cash out) they'll do it. A short-term economic decision for survival. The tech-savvy may end up recruiting friends, family, and others and bring them along, requesting an incentive for helping them.
Overall, more than meets the eye here, but Worldcoin can expect curiosity, interest, and engagement to rise when:
Social Proof: "I know 10 people who got paid, this thing works...let's go."
Validation: "I was sceptical at first, but when I saw someone get paid, I believed it..."
Come in.
Scams ahead? They can also expect some scammers to copy and start swindling unsuspecting Kenyans in the name of Worldcoin (won't take long if it works). It is a good thing there aren't people moving around their neighbourhoods with their own orbs being paid a commission by scanning others.
