Americans need to learn about the nepotistic behaviors that Indians perform in big tech.
At my job, our director left and was replaced by an Indian. Afterward, the department head of nearly a decade expressed an interest in exploring new roles.
The director replaced the head in less than a week, surprising everyone and abruptly forcing them to secure a new job.
I met the new head, who is Indian. I learned they worked at the company for years but were affected by the recent layoffs. Fortunately, they were rehired by our director, who I learned was actually their manager before they were laid off. Incredulously, the director has been their manager at the last 3 companies they have worked at.
Since the layoffs, we have been in a hiring freeze and only interns that accept an offer can fill new roles. I learned the newest hire in our department, who is Indian, is none other than the former intern of our new department head.
What we are witnessing is a nepotistic takeover of an entire department. It only took one replacement at the top of the pyramid to begin the transformation process of a previously meritorious department into some private network of Indians who just happen to know each other.
There is a soft story and a hard story about what happens when certain CEOs take over major American tech companies.
The soft story gets the attention. Growth mindset. Learn-it-alls instead of know-it-alls. Empathy. Collaboration. Less internal competition. It sounds modern and thoughtful.
When it first happened people were under the impression that a global mindset was taking shape in some of our largest tech companies.
Literally nobody said a thing as companies transitioned from White Male to Females to ... well, Indian.
The hard story gets less coverage.
These same companies continue to rely heavily on H-1B visas. Indian nationals still receive around 70 percent of the visas and take up a large % of jobs in silicon valley. At the same time, the companies expand large development and engineering centers in India. Roles that American graduates used to fill are increasingly staffed by visa workers or moved offshore.
The result is real pressure on American computer science graduates and mid-level engineers. Entry and middle-tier positions become harder to get. Wage growth slows in parts of the market. The domestic talent pipeline is treated as optional rather than essential.
Does it make sense? Are these companies thriving with cheaper labor and offshored talent pools.
Hardly. Actually, rarely. Sure we get a decent earnings statement one quarter while walking back a disaster of Windows 11 or AI drain, the previous two...but pharma failed audits and continuing quality issues are becoming the accepted norm.
A company can talk about empathy and still optimize hard on global labor costs. Those two things are opposites when you are transferring and destroying what your main customers actually built in the country you are fleeing.
The culture change that actually matters most is not the internal slogans. It is the quiet shift in who gets the work and where the work is done.
That is the part that affects American families.
ZILLOW LAYOFFS WERE TO OFFSHORE JOBS TO INDIA
Its Washington WARN notice says the cuts involve "the relocation or contracting out of operations and/or employee positions."
It incorporated a Bengaluru subsidiary in November.
Keep eyes on this headcount in the next release.
The next time a US Senator wants to take a picture with you — or of you — I hope you’ll stop them & ask,
“What have you done to pass the SAVE America Act & did you vote to leave DC for August recess?”
Peacefully.
Together Computer is hiring tons of 200k+ engineers in San Francisco
but applications have to be by paper mail only!
OpenAI just paid a $3M settlement to the DOJ for using paper mail applications to deter American applicants...
Should visas be granted based on this ad?
🚨 WOW! The WNBA players organization is FURIOUS that former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White declared themselves identifying as women, filing for the 2027 WNBA Draft
ENES FREEDOM: 6 foot 10, 250 lbs
ROYCE WHITE: 6 foot 8, 260 lbs
The league is now forced into deciding whether to define woman on the basis of BIOLOGY, or into allowing straight-up men into the league!
Instant superstars if they get in.
These are TALENTED "women!" 🤣
That's how you do it: DEMONSTRATE the insanity!
@Kalshi I stop myself from laughing out loud when a client confessed "our IT department was outsourced @Infosys and nothing works well. Our audit tax exposure has gone through the roof and nothing works well." CFOs making terrible technical decisions.
🚨 IT'S OFFICIAL: DHS has ADVANCED a proposal that would abolish the 60-day grace period for H-1B visa foreign workers to find employment after a job loss, before their LEGAL STATUS is impacted — Bloomberg
Good!
This means GTFO or get deported! 🔥
This is getting interesting.
Two days ago I posted my proposal to make PERM bulletproof for American workers.
Yesterday, Sen. Eric Schmitt called on the Department of Labor to overhaul PERM and close loopholes that allow employers to prioritize foreign workers.
Here is exactly what he wants:
• Require every PERM job to appear on the employer’s normal careers page.
• Require it to also appear on at least one widely used online job platform.
• Force employers to use the same application process for PERM jobs that they use for comparable non-PERM jobs.
• Require employers to document every American who applies for a PERM position.
• Require employers to explain why every rejected American applicant was rejected.
• Require employers to certify that the position was not reserved for a foreign worker.
• Require employers to identify and notify recently laid-off American workers who may qualify for the PERM position.
• Require those potentially qualified laid-off Americans to be given interviews.
• Require a written explanation when those American workers are rejected.
• Require DOL to disclose data on PERM audits and fraud.
• Require data showing PERM applicants’ prior participation in OPT and H-1B.
That’s a very good start.
Now finish the job:
• Publish salary ranges.
• Require interview notes and scorecards.
• Ban job requirements tailored to a preselected candidate.
• Audit every labor certification before approval.
• Permanently debar repeat offenders.
• Refer intentional fraud for criminal prosecution.
The burden should be on the employer to prove that a qualified American wasn’t available.
If that’s really true, proving it shouldn’t be difficult.

Dear South Dakota,
John Thune play’d y’all.
Do not send him back to DC. The traitor doesn’t deserve a seat at the big table.
Sincerely,
The American People.
Some words come at just the right time.
This is the perfect example of that. I love my X family.
You guys have no idea how much you mean to me. Especially right now. I'm silent and quiet because I have to rest. But I see and read everything.
And some days right now, I need to read exactly what is written below.
