Rep. Ken Calvert

Proudly representing Southern California in Congress. Defense Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman + Fentanyl Caucus Co-Chair. Fighting for you!

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

Thank you @SecWar! These Chinese influence operations are a threat to our national security and must be stopped wherever they appear.

[Secretary of War Pete Hegseth @SecWar]

The War Department has designated Confucius Institutes as a threat to our national security.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

This year, I worked with our local communities to secure $67 million in the FY26 Transportation Appropriations bill that Pres. Trump signed into law. That was more funding than any other district in California. I’ll always fight to return your tax dollars to improve our community. https://t.co/zAVhVN3NI2

An absolutely disgusting and vile act insulting the bravery and sacrifices made by our Marines.

[Fox News @FoxNews]

An iconic Iwo Jima flag-raising monument was left decapitated after an alleged sledgehammer attack by an illegal immigrant.

Police arrest 27-year-old Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano after allegedly catching him damaging the statue near Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia Wednesday night.

Authorities estimate the damage at hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The statue, located near the National Museum of the Marine Corps, is a smaller replica of the famous World War II memorial.

Maldonado Soriano is being held without bond and faces multiple felony charges, including destruction of property and injury to a monument.

Skilled workers provide the foundation of our industrial base. As Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, I have supported significant investments for workforce development for skilled trades, especially for shipbuilding. I will continue to work with my colleagues and the Trump administration to support the Build Freedom campaign and shape the workforce that builds and defends America.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

This morning, I toured Corona Regional Medical Center and spoke with their administratiors, doctors, and nurses about meeting the health care needs of our community. I'm thankful for all of our health care workers who help keep us healthy.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

We can't tolerate theft by fraudsters who steal from taxpayers and the health care programs Americans rely upon. Great work by the @FBILosAngeles and @TheJusticeDept!

[FBI Los Angeles @FBILosAngeles]

Early this morning, the FBI and our partners arrested 8 of 15 defendants in Southern California, Dallas and Chicago, for their roles in health care schemes that collectively resulted in $2 billion in fraudulent claims to government and private health care programs, including sham substance abuse treatment programs, unnecessary artery treatments, and bogus hospice services. Two of the 15 defendants were arrested last week.

“Today the FBI and our partners executed 8 arrests, with 7 additional defendants charged, after the subjects involved allegedly orchestrated a multi-year healthcare fraud scheme resulting in $1.8 billion in losses,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “The defendants - including 6 medical professionals – made fraudulent claims to steal from taxpayer funded healthcare and insurance programs, including substance abuse treatment programs, hospice care, and Medicare programs in the Los Angeles area designed to help the most vulnerable. Under President Trump’s leadership with the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, stealing from American taxpayers will no longer be tolerated in this country. This FBI will continue to move aggressively with our Department of Justice to dismantle fraud networks stealing from hard working taxpayers.”

“Healthcare fraud cheats American taxpayers and health care programs out of billions of dollars,” said Patrick Grandy, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office. “The FBI will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to do everything in our power to safeguard our government health care programs and the taxpayers picking up the bill.”

California policies led to the closure of the Philips 66 and Valero refineries over to the past year. To make up for that loss in refining capacity, the West Coast is now importing twice as much gasoline from around the world as it did just a few years ago. That drives prices up for you at the pump. That's why I've introduced the National Security Interstate Pipeline Act, H.R. 9838, a bill that would authorize the expedited approval of interstate oil and natural gas pipelines that would make it easier to transfer products, like gasoline, from regions with refineries.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

Americans are used to the principle of trust but verify. California Democrats have set up a voting system that completely ignores the essential “verify” part. @TheJusticeDept must continue to follow the facts and enforce our federal laws prohibiting non-citizens from voting.

[F.A. United States Attorney Bill Essayli @USAttyEssayli]

Massive concession: Los Angeles election officials just told a federal court they have no independent way to verify citizenship beyond what voters attest. (They simply take their word for it.) Under federal law, only citizens may vote in federal elections. Yet California has not acted on the list of 20,000 suspected noncitizens or agreed to set aside their ballots. American citizens’ votes are being diluted in California.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

Espionage by the Chinese Communist Party is a threat to America and our allies that must be taken seriously with an all-of-government approach to protect our interests.

[The Washington Times @WashTimes]

The arrest of a suspected Chinese agent in Southern California highlights how China’s Ministry of State Security conducts covert surveillance of political opponents, according to a former counterintelligence official.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

The crackdown on fraud continues thanks to @VP and the @WHFraudTF! I introduced the Zero Tolerance for Fraudsters Act to lock up fraudsters with mandatory minimum sentences. We need to send a strong message that stealing from taxpayers will not be tolerated!

[Vice President JD Vance @VP]

"Vice President JD Vance will announce today that the federal anti-fraud task force he leads has identified $40 million in welfare fraud and more than 40 suspects behind the alleged schemes."

I want to thank the Corona Police Department and @FBILosAngeles for their proactive actions to protect Corona students and teachers from this threat.

[FBI Los Angeles @FBILosAngeles]

In early October, online communications about a death threat to a school in Riverside County, CA, came to the attention of law enforcement and led to arrests today. Read more here from the Corona Police Department and the response by FBI Director, Kash Patel.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

It was an exciting morning in Palm Springs as we celebrated the Baggage Handling System Groundbreaking at Palm Springs International Airport. I helped secure $3 million in Community Project Funding to expand and modernize this important component of the PSP operations residents and visitors rely on.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

Together with President Trump and my @HouseGOP colleagues, I backed tax policies that help you keep more of the money you earn. I voted for:
✅ Expanded SALT deduction
✅ No tax on tips
✅ No tax on overtime
✅ Expanded child tax credit

[House Republicans @HouseGOP]

The American Dream shouldn’t come with a bigger tax bill. Republicans are lowering taxes and expanding opportunities for families to build, save, and own.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

The price of gasoline in California is higher than any other state because of the high taxes and costly regulations imposed by radicals in Sacramento. We have to reverse those policies to bring relief to families suffering every time they fill their tank.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

I'm glad to see @TheJusticeDept and @USAttyEssayli taking action to protect the integrity of our elections. Any voter fraud is too much voter fraud. That's why I've voted for voter ID and commonsense policies that strengthen our election security.

[U.S. Department of Justice @TheJusticeDept]

THIS MORNING IN CA: Acting Deputy Attorney General @PADAGMcCotter announces charges against 28 Foreign Nationals in California for election crimes.

"Today's charges demonstrate why that lawsuit [against CA over its voter rolls] is so important. The lawsuit is about preventing voter fraud that cancels out the votes of U.S. citizens. Enforcing federal law increases the integrity of elections — it increases confidence in elections."

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

Across our region, your federal tax dollars are being returned back home to upgrade our military bases and build the infrastructure our communities rely upon. I’ll never stop fighting for Southern California in Congress!

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

I toured the Kaiser Permanente Wildomar Trail Medical Building this week and saw first-hand how they are expanding heath care services for southwest Riverside County families. I know the families I represent need greater access to health care facilities as well as more affordable health care options. That’s why I voted to pass the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act – legislation that lowers health care premiums, increases health care access, expands health care choices, and brings greater transparency to America’s health care system.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

Last night, I joined Canyon Lake Mayor Jeremy Smith and local leaders at the Canyon Lake State of the City event. It’s an honor to represent and support this wonderful community in Congress.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

Delivering results to improve our communities is one of my top priorities in Congress. This week’s ribbon cutting for the Freedom Bridge at Bradley Road is the latest example of the partnerships I’ve developed with local leaders to bring back your tax dollars to build the infrastructure our growing communities need so desperately. You can trust me to fight for you and our region in Washington, D.C.

[Rep. Ken Calvert @KenCalvert]

I joined local job creators today at the Corona Chamber of Commerce’s Good Morning Corona breakfast. I updated them on my efforts to reduce taxes and job-killing regulations, as well as fund local infrastructure improvements. Happy to see so many friends in my hometown!
