We, Advocates, don't stress enough about the ramifications, implications and/or consequences of Supreme Court decision in Dina Management case or if we do, either you people don't understand or you burry your head in the sand. For the umpteenth, let me break it down with ease.
Many Americans today have mixed opinions about Barack Obama. Some admire him, others criticize him. But for those of us who come from outside, the reality is often different.
Believe it or not, no American president has ever left such a strong impression around the world as Barack Obama. He embodied hope, respect, intelligence, and dialogue. He represented a powerful image of America: open, inspiring, and close to the people.
For many of us, Obama was not just a president; he was a symbol. A symbol that everything is possible, that social background, skin color, or personal history should never be limits.
He restored confidence to millions of young people around the world. He spoke to the world with dignity, calm, and responsibility. He knew how to unite instead of divide.
No matter the internal political debates, internationally, Barack Obama will forever remain one of the most respected, loved, and admired American presidents.
His legacy goes beyond borders. And his name will remain engraved in history.
Lawyers - what are books (or other forms of media) that shaped the way you approach your practice, that you wish you’d experienced sooner, or that you wish all young lawyers would read?

Summary of the Sacco Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which was read a first time in the National Assembly this week:
— Establishes a central liquidity and shared services framework, allowing 30+ primary Saccos to form a secondary Sacco that pools funds, manages liquidity, and provides system-wide financial infrastructure, including payments and settlement.
— Defines a wholesale-only model for the secondary Sacco, which means it cannot take deposits from or lend to individuals, restricting operations strictly to primary Saccos and creating a clear two-tier system (members → primary Saccos → secondary Sacco).
— Expands permissible activities of the secondary Sacco to include liquidity reserve management, inter-Sacco lending, investment in government securities, payment systems, transfers, and trade finance, positioning it as a sector-wide financial intermediary.
— Places the secondary Sacco under SASRA licensing and supervision, with prescribed capital and liquidity thresholds, continuous oversight, and regulatory enforcement powers.
— Introduces stricter governance and fit-and-proper requirements for directors and senior management of the secondary Sacco, alongside expanded regulatory approval powers.
— Strengthens enforcement through penalties for non-compliance, including fines of up to KES 3M or imprisonment of up to 5 years.
— Enhances the Deposit Guarantee Fund framework for primary Saccos, outlining claims processes, payout conditions, and timelines in the event of Sacco failure.
— Maintains depositor protection at KES 100,000 per member in primary Saccos, with provisions allowing offsets against outstanding loans before payouts.
— Grants the Cabinet Secretary and regulator powers to set regulations, fees, liquidity thresholds, and operational rules, with the Bill classified as a money bill due to public expenditure implications.

SACCO Amendment Bill--Were the majority of members ever consulted? 15% taxation!
Bureaucracy in salaries/allowances.
SACCOs built over the years by members' contributions, majority being women. Savings now on the verge of being looted
Civil Societies, take this to Court
The U.S. has perpetrated an atrocity at sea, 2,000 miles away from Iran's shores.
Frigate Dena, a guest of India's Navy carrying almost 130 sailors, was struck in international waters without warning.
Mark my words: The U.S. will come to bitterly regret precedent it has set.
True intelligence comes from 3 core abilities: solving problems with clarity, adjusting with grace in any situation and making decisions that are thoughtful.
When these qualities grow, so does your inner strength. Nurture them a little every day and watch the shift within you.
WHY MANY BELIEVERS PRAY, FAST, AND STILL MISS GOD’S DIRECTION — APOSTLE JOSHUA SELMAN
Many believers are sincere, prayerful, and consistent, yet they still struggle to discern God’s direction. This is not because God is silent, but because revelation is not accessed merely by activity; it is accessed by alignment. Scripture makes it clear that “the secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him” (Psalm 25:14). Without reverence, brokenness, and submission, spiritual exercises can become noise instead of gateways. God does not speak to impress; He speaks to instruct those who are postured to obey.
One major reason believers miss direction is familiarity with spiritual routines without intimacy. You can know how to pray and still not know God. Moses did not just experience power; he knew God’s ways (Psalm 103:7). Samuel learned early that hearing God required stillness, sensitivity, and the humility to say, “Speak Lord, for your servant hears” (1 Samuel 3:10). Direction flows where the heart is quiet enough to receive correction, not just promises.
God’s generals understood this principle. Apostle Joshua Selman often references Enoch, a man who walked with God and therefore escaped confusion entirely (Genesis 5:24). He speaks of Apostle Paul, who after encountering Jesus, did not rush into ministry but withdrew to Arabia to gain clarity and alignment (Galatians 1:17–18). Direction was birthed in separation. Even Jesus Himself withdrew frequently to lonely places to pray, teaching us that clarity is preserved in intimacy (Luke 5:16).
If you desire direction, pursue alignment more than answers. Build an altar of obedience, not just intensity. The voice of God becomes clearer when the will is surrendered. Isaiah 30:21 assures us that when alignment is restored, “your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it.” When you walk with God, direction stops being a struggle and becomes a lifestyle.
“Oil is not given. It is bought”
It was this knowledge that saved the 5 wise virgins.
Can I share something that will bless you greatly?
Obviously we know that it wasn’t just virginity that saved the wise virgins because even those described as foolish were virgins.
We know also that it wasn’t their decision to go and meet the bridegroom because the foolish were on the path as well.
And we know that a time came when they were all tired and they slumbered. So we know also that fatigued and exhaustion does not mean you’re not still on the firing line.
But a time came when it was very dark and everyone needed to trim their lamps.
And that was when the wise stood out. They had extra.
That was not all. Please stay with me.
When those that did not have enough asked them to give them, they said “go to them thy sell and buy”
This is where I’m going to.
They knew that in this kingdom you don’t give oil. Oil is bought. You have to take the resources of time, attention, consecration, and patience to buy the oil that you need to keep your spiritual vehicle running.
I’m sharing this because a new year has begun. You have decided to take your spiritual life more seriously.
But you want to go around pages such like mine and those of ministers of the gospel to collect oil from them
No Sir
No Ma.
The oil people share and that you experience from their lives should just be a spark. It should be encouragement. It should be a fire lit in your spirit to go and buy your own.
To go and flog it out in your closet with destiny and with the word and furnis lh your own spirit.
We can’t share oil.
You need to buy your own.
It is only those that know this and implement it that will stand in the dark days ahead.
Please read with understanding.
Blessings!
Parliament has invited your views on the Turkana Oil FDP that we are considering currently. You should pay attention because this is Ruto’s biggest scandal yet.
1. The ownership of the Company that is to produce the oil (Gulf Energy, Formerly Tullow) changed names and hands multiple times in a matter of weeks. Days even. Your lawyer will tell you thats symptomatic of attempts to mask real ownership. It is telling that the current FDP was approved by government days after the last ownership changes.
2. The Original production contract has been varied a million times. Most notably on 25th November 2025 just days after the last ownership changes, to raise the maximum recoverable cost for petroleum production from the initial 55% to 85%. Kenyans will never see any real benefit from that oil.
3. On the same day Clause 27(2)(b) was amended to expand the definition of capital
expenditure to include expenditure on labour, fuel, repairs, maintenance,
hauling, mobilisation and supplies and materials relating to production,
development, exploration and appraisal and decommissioning costs. We may basically never see a coin from our oil.
4. Crucially, we in the Senate passed the Local Content bill which requires the oil company to utilize locally available resources including labour and supplies. They have cleverly made the current agreement with Gulf exempt from such legislation.
We don’t have leaders. We have dealers in government who don’t care about anything other than themselves.
