Martin Lewis evidence to MPs… the biggest area of complaint I get about energy bills is on the Standing Charge.
Just a small part of the evidence given at the Commons Public Accounts committee you can watch the full session here: https://t.co/EWNRsrTH1l
"They've silenced her.
"This is an attempt to punish someone who spoke the truth."
The "bizarre" moment @maitlis is forced to ask Facebook whistleblower Sarah Wynn-Williams to leave the studio.
This astounding image is a time capsule of thousands of galaxies containing trillions of stars through billions of years.
The Universe is truly awe-inspiring.

Russia sentences LGBT+ nightclub owner to SEVEN YEARS jail for organising "extremist" activities
Staff get 2 to 6 years!
This signals Putin's intent to erase LGBTs from public life & visibility - to close all LGBT+ safe spaces - just like Nazis in 1933

🐶 Hero Border Collie Tsunami saves nearly 100 lives after Venezuela earthquake
The 9-year-old rescue dog discovered dozens of survivors trapped under the rubble.
This will be his final mission — after this, Tsunami is retiring.
Once saved from starvation himself, he became one of the best search-and-rescue dogs, working at disaster sites in Venezuela, Turkey, and Syria.
Absolute legend. ❤️
Burnham cites his record on a local approach to employment in Manchester as a blueprint for what ought to happen nationally.
Something comparable to the Greater Manchester Baccalaureate (MBacc) - a technical education pathway specific to the jobs on offer in the city could work in Birmingham, London, Leeds etc.
6th former: Martin, how do I know if an advert on my socials is real or fake?

It's time to ban above inflation mid-contract mobile & broadband price hikes. We investigated 47,000 tariffs, & in 75% of cases @Ofcom's protection rules meant people PAY MORE. In 99% of cases, people saw above inflation rises. It needs to stop. Full story https://t.co/70rJtoed51
In 1849, Hippolyte Fizeau measured the speed of light to within 5% accuracy.
He used a rotating toothed wheel, a mirror 8.6 km away, and a candle.
Light passed through a gap in the wheel.
The wheel spun.
If it spun fast enough, the returning light was blocked by the next tooth.
The speed of rotation at the blocking point told him how long the light took to travel.
No electronics.
No lasers.
A wheel, a mirror, and arithmetic.
His result: 313,300 km/s.
Actual speed of light: 299,792 km/s.
Error: 4.5%.
For context: every measurement of the speed of light before Fizeau was either wrong by orders of magnitude or considered unmeasurable.
The experiment took place on the roof of his house in Montmartre, Paris.
He funded it himself.
He was 29 years old.
His result stood as the most accurate experimental measurement for 30 years — until Albert Michelson improved it in 1879 using a rotating mirror.
Fizeau's wheel is now in the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris.
The speed of light is now defined as exactly 299,792,458 m/s — not measured, but defined.
Because our measurement tools became more accurate than the definition.
Engineering eventually made physics more precise than physics could make itself.
