@Ralph_MasonJr I think precedent was set before for cap circumvention which included losing picks and suspensions but without forcing an ownership change. Expect NBA didn’t go further for self preservation and avoid potentially losing in a lawsuit.
@stevekylerNBA If Balmer doesn’t sell, then his other way to react might be to make godfather offers to other teams for first round picks since I believe teams can pay whatever to another team for picks which also don’t have a max for spending or count against the salary cap.
@KamBrothers NBA wants to keep player association from fighting action against Kawhi and expect they had buy-in for how far NBA would go with penalties. That doesn’t mean I disagree with you.
@JeffFletcherOCR Another thing new ownership will most likely do different is invest in farm system, player development, scouting, baseball academies, and coaching which has been lacking for years.
@MikeLupica The interesting thing is that the league doesn’t prohibit purchasing draft picks. Ballmer might try to show up the league with godfather money offers to other teams to in essence get back 1st round picks.
@KamBrothers Seems clean NBA was initially playing the role of hear no, see no, speak no evil about the Clippers. Combination of facts through reporting and socializing of info forced their hand along with any owners pushing for action.
@TrentRushSports I’m elated as an Angels fan going back to the 80s who has not paid for tickets for years as a small protest vs. Arte’s lack of needed investment in the org. We just got a state of the art owner! Cannot wait to see how things go with org and start going back to games.
@RogerLodge7@AngelsRadioKLAA Hope you and crew remain with ownership change. As a fan, best day since 2002 WS win. Looking forward to a state of the art owner. Been avoiding stadium for years as a protest. Hope that Mr. Autry is smiling from heaven with this news.
@PerryBurner@AngelsRadioKLAA I feel for those guys and personal relationships they may have had with Arte. However, best day maybe since 2002 WS win with knowing Arte will be leaving and a state of the art owner coming.
@billplunkettocr Amen that we are. Been a horrible 15+ years when Arte went from investing in team to a slumlord. Can finally start going to games again under new owner because been protesting by not buying tickets for years.
