Have you ever wondered what it’s like to intern in a Congressional district office?
My incredible team of interns in Oakland took us along for a typical day to peel back the curtain and show you the important work that they're doing. As Ella Baker said - the young people are the hope of our movement.
If you’re interested in being part of our next intern cohort in Oakland or D.C. visit https://t.co/fJoDyuqyKO to apply to a full or part time paid internship this fall!
CAL IN COLOR | "Nothing in the world is Black and white, except I am, and that’s what makes this article hard for me to write. Growing up in the Central Valley of California, I was constantly surrounded by people who didn’t agree with me nor look like me"

CAL IN COLOR | "My hair was always perfectly styled and my curls always defined, but my feelings about my hair? Those have never been defined. Some days I love it, other days I hate it"

From our earliest days, Black history has always been American history – and Black folks have profoundly shaped our American culture through music, art, literature, sports, and beyond. One month a year is not sufficient to celebrate the power of the movements and the people who have fought for the rights we enjoy today. That’s something that we have to do each and every day, as we strive to live up to their example and make sure our children and grandchildren remember their stories.
Instead of consoling people, Donald Trump is once again exploiting tragedy for his own gain.

It’s #NationalInternDay! I’m grateful for our hardworking interns in my Washington DC, and Fresno offices.
They are the future leaders of our country. When our young people succeed, America succeeds.
It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆) I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing… and living to speak about it. With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th. Pre-order now at https://t.co/m3KNl71qrY 💜💜💜
