Trauma did NOT make you stronger.
It traumatized you, broke your heart, dysregulated your nervous system, gave you PTSD, sleepless nights, trust issues, connection difficulty, almost killed you, and stole your will to live.
YOU make yourself stronger…by LIVING everyday with the threat of living with trauma. -Dr. Jen
Getting yo shit together requires a deep level of honesty wit yourself , you gotta be able to look at yourself in the mirror & be willing to accept flaws & behavior that's not allowing you to grow , self evaluation is difficult but it's extremely necessary.
I don’t think people realize how hard it is for those struggling with their mental health or profound grief to engage in BASIC activities of daily living.
If you’re struggling to shower, or get out of bed, I want you to know, you’re not broken. Do what you can, when you can, and let that be enough in that moment. @drjenwolkin
40 is young.
Life is longer than you think.
The idea that “it’s all downhill” after our 20s is one of the greatest (and most believed) lies of our culture.
Reject age dysfunction.
LIVE, til you die.
30 is not old. I want y’all to unlearn that.
It’s causing many to rush their life rather than enjoy the journey.
Your life doesn’t end at 30; it’s still blooming. At 30, you’ve only been an adult for 12 years. You’re not even a “teen” in the “adult years.” Chill out.
If things are heavy right now, you’re not alone. I wish more people didn’t feel shame in the struggle. I wish more people were open about it. We need each other and instead we’re exhausted from pretending our lives are perfect.

Living with trauma is painful.
The dark thoughts. The anxiety. The voice in the mind that tells you you’re not enough. We need more trauma awareness. More compassion.
More people being honest about the parts of themselves they hide from the world.
