Made some changes. I really want it to have a "control panel layout". OSE and Dolmenwood are a masterclass when it comes to this design.
Bringing Basic Fantasy to this is truly a labor of love.
@GorgonsGrimoire@Affinity Making tables is easy, making them look good and consistent is a challenge. For some reason Affinity forgets font and size values. I can't make a blank table and set all the values in advance. It requires a lot of manual fidgeting. I just do it in excel now before I copy/paste.
@JohnnyOmaha@Affinity Thanks! Interesting, but the hardest part is done now, the blueprint table is ready. I can just copy-paste my spreadsheets into them now
@Bad_Toad_Games Thanks to Basic Fantasy I realized what kind of game I wanted Depths to be. I was just building Basic Fantasy! Under the CC BY licensing I also have way more freedom.
It's finally coming together. I hope I get the same "Eureka!" moment with my Overlife games.
In classic Vindicta fashion, I have pulled R&R: Depths from the ashes and... well, threw it in the bin.
I'm giving Basic Fantasy a modern facelift—much like OSE—sprinkled with some Rust & Ruin Depths.
It will be under CC BY-SA 4.0

@crescendogames9 And I do have system preference. I prefer the system that activates my table the most.
For some that's call of cthulhu, for others rules lite. For a few it's the grit and crunch of Travelle or ACKS. Because a robust and deep ruleset allows for tactical and simulationist play.
@crescendogames9 Hey! An essay on my essay! Enjoyable read, and many of your assumptions are correct. If you go through my 51 video library so far, you'll notice several videos on this topic.
The last is a poetic essay on diagnosis, rather than the cure. Which, to many, seems very helpful. 1/2
Well, that was a crazy month on Youtube.
Time for a short break.
It's a week filled to the brim with work stuff.
I also have to step away from the Youtube comment section for a minute.
@ChubbyFunsterGC I ran a much smaller Kickstarter, but making the whole book, do the tiny bit of marketing involved, keeping everyone posted, and not even having to worry about Youtube was already mentally draining.
Once the books are shipped take some time off! Well deserved!
