Let's take robotics. Until now training robots meant collecting tons of expensive real-world data. Now a handful of recordings can become thousands of different simulated situations.

Robots can practice the same task in new rooms, with different objects and lighting without anyone having to film it all again.

For the industry it means we can train robots way faster and cheaper. Home robots, warehouse robots, whatever... they can learn new environments at scale instead of staying stuck in the lab.

This is one of the first real bridges between “cool AI video models” and actual physical machines that have to work in the real world.

coconut oil is the only oil that actually penetrates the hair shaft. every other oil sits on the surface. let that sink in. the $8 jar in your kitchen does something that $60 salon treatments chemically cannot do

a study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science tested coconut oil, mineral oil, and sunflower oil on human hair fibers. only coconut oil reduced protein loss from the hair shaft. mineral oil and sunflower oil did nothing measurable. they coated the surface and evaporated. the coconut oil entered the cortex of the hair and stayed

the mechanism is lauric acid. coconut oil is 49% lauric acid, a medium chain fatty acid with a molecular weight small enough to penetrate the hair cuticle and bind to the proteins inside the cortex. no other commonly available oil has a fatty acid profile that permits this level of penetration. argan oil, jojoba oil, castor oil: they condition the surface. coconut oil repairs the interior

• reduces protein loss from the hair shaft by up to 39% when applied before washing. the water and friction from shampooing strips proteins from the cortex. pre wash coconut oil prevents this
• prevents hygral fatigue, the swelling and cracking that occurs when dry hair absorbs water too quickly. the oil inside the shaft regulates how much water enters
• repairs damaged cuticles from within which reduces breakage, split ends, and the frizz that comes from raised cuticle scales
• strengthens hair at the weakest point (the mid shaft where mechanical damage accumulates) rather than just smoothing the surface
• delivers antimicrobial protection to the scalp through lauric acid which kills malassezia (the fungus behind dandruff) and staphylococcus (behind folliculitis)
• costs $8 for a jar that lasts 4 to 6 months of weekly applications. a single salon keratin treatment costs $200 and wears off in 8 weeks

the salon industry charges $150 to $400 for protein treatments that temporarily coat the hair surface. coconut oil enters the hair and bonds to the proteins already there for a fraction of a cent per application. the salon treatment looks better on an invoice. the coconut oil works better inside the hair

apply virgin cold pressed coconut oil to dry hair from mid shaft to ends 30 minutes before washing. for scalp treatment, massage a small amount into the scalp and leave overnight. wash out in the morning with a gentle shampoo. once per week is sufficient. the protein protection is cumulative so consistency matters more than quantity

every other oil you've used on your hair has been sitting on the surface waiting to be washed off. one oil enters the building and reinforces the structure. everything else is decoration.
