@eduleadership Based on what I’ve seen, the reason the curricula is not finished is because teachers choose to deliver other lessons/activities outside of the curricula.
@DataInsightPart I had to eliminate 10 positions, so my guess is that there are many fewer positions available than there were in previous years. I’d like to know the ratio of vacant positions to total available positions.
@amypento@rpondiscio I have a staff member that visits the home of any absent student who is also currently chronically absent or was the previous school year. In-person conversations at the home are key. I’ve found that only calling, emailing, or sending letters makes little to no impact.

@MrLandesman I’m 100% in the Kirschner camp, no defender of big publishers, and I also don’t believe the Solve & Share is any reason to throw out an otherwise solid program.
@MrLandesman At best, it’s an opportunity for students to solve a challenging problem and share their previously learned strategies for solving it and a formative assessment opportunity for teachers to identify misconceptions for the direct instruction and gradual release part of the lesson.

@MrLandesman I work in a District of 300,000 students. We implemented enVision three years ago. The District, on average, saw gains every year since.
The Solve & Share portion of the lesson is 10 minutes where students work to solve a problem that is an extension of the previous lesson
