@anglofuturist Much to agree with there. Conservatives will hold their core seats, like Sevenoaks, and probably regain rural losses like Tiverton. However, there are a fair few seats where the two big parties are fairly close, and a chunk of tory voters will stay at home or go Reform.

@alexmaccaroon A veritable Oscar Wilde! Without the insulin poisonings, the prosecution case would have been weaker (and the abnormal readings were not noted at the times of death, which is odd), but someone injected two of the babies with massive doses of insulin. So who was it?

@alexmaccaroon I know a lot about it. Coroners' reports? The insulin poisoning was detected much later, retrospectively, which then led to suspicions of foul play. And I think you over-estimate the skills of coroners anyway from a forensic point of view. Watched too much Quincy on TV laddie?

@alexmaccaroon I think I'll trust the court over a US magazine. Somebody murdered some of them with insulin, she was the only person in the ward for every death, some sudden deaths happened moments after she was alone with the child.

@frost_at @eyuplovely Yes. And what most people think of as tools - saws, hammers - are not made here anymore. Possibly a specialist manufacturer, of say, mining drills or medical scanners, but not something a human rights lawyer would know anything about.

@BDSixsmith I think something similar happened to sex in the 1980s. It went from being a largely fun activity for grown-ups, not that important unless you wanted kids, to something dangerous, needing medical supervision, and is now semi-criminalised.

@BDSixsmith Yes. Also, they are so black and white. If there is some degree of harm, people who do it must be mad, so ban it. Skiing is very risky as activities go, but skiers are not seen as suicidal or anti-social.
