From losing your job to needing to care for a relative, everyone’s circumstances can change.
That’s why we need a decent safety net that covers #OurEssentials
Find out more about Universal Credit and what needs to change. ⤵️
Universal Credit is only £85 a week. It doesn’t add up. 🧾
The knock-on effect of not having enough income to cover the essentials can have a devastating impact on people’s health.

🧵 As the #CostOfLiving increases, people across the UK are going without the essentials we all need to survive.
Universal Credit should support people when they need it, but it isn't providing enough to cover the cost of all the essentials, like food and utilities ⤵️
Single-parent families, parents with young children often limited by high childcare costs, or parents caring for disabled children are among those more likely to face these barriers.
For them, work isn't always a route out of poverty.

💬 "I will never forget the support I had.
"Food banks may be described as organisations that support people but they are actually so much more than that."
Thank you to everyone who has supported our food banks this winter, ensuring they can be there for people like Deborah. 💚
Happy New Year 2022, Everyone, here at Chalk Farm FB, we are asking questions how can we do what we do better? So how can we help? For people who have used Foodbank, we want to hear from you the MOST!
If you're struggling to afford food, you could get help from a food bank.
You’ll need to be referred by your local council, Citizens Advice or another charity. If you can’t afford food, food banks can help.
