@chickensubject@carleolson Acts 7:56, Jesus (then resurrected) standing physically on the right hand of God the father.
Nicene Creed professing they are consubstantial or in Greek- homoousios.
Redefining the nature of God the Father and his Son.
@wtanksleyjr@round_the_horn@carleolson I’m not trying to be disrespectful. (X is a terrible place for good faith discussions)
You stated that the creeds “seem” true.
Now you say they are a solid fit.
But my position is that they are not true and, as you read them in order, you can see the doctrinal drift.
@round_the_horn@carleolson Creeds also seriously upended the conflicting Christian views of their day.
And yet there are still so many unique views in the Christian community even now.
It seems the drift happened regardless.
We may not agree, but what creedal sect do you subscribe yourself to?
@carleolson I know which ones are in the Bible because I read it daily. (Just finished 1 Sam. 3 again)
I believe in, and study the Bible.
But you’re right. I don’t spend time in creedal proof-texting.
I believe in Jesus born of Mary in Bethlehem.
The healer, the great high priest, and living Son of God.
Crucified on Golgotha.
Risen on the 3rd day.
Some may not agree with these beliefs. That’s ok. It’s the Jesus I follow. I’m a Christian.
