Kenyans in the Diaspora are alarmed by the rising incidents of abductions, enforced disappearances and political detentions in Kenya.

We call for the immediate release of the young people who are illegally detained.

We call on the oversight mechanisms- @IPOA_KE @HakiKNCHR to undertake their responsibilities as provided for in the Katiba.

These entities should be allowed to do their work.

We are aware of reports that @Safaricom_Care is hindering attempts to track the missing youth by not providing telephone records to the families.

We condemn these actions by @Safaricom_Care including the alleged collusion with abductors.

We are also aware that @ForeignOfficeKE is not facilitating the travel of @_AfricanUnion and @UNHumanRights special mechanisms to carry out their work.

The court has ruled on my petition, HCCHRPET/E004/2022, challenging the unconstitutionality of Regulation 37 of the Elections (Registration of Voters) Regulations, 2012.

While the court has upheld the regulation requiring diaspora Kenyans to register with a passport, I firmly believe this decision fails to uphold the equality guaranteed by our Constitution.
This regulation unjustly discriminates against our citizens abroad, limiting their fundamental right to participate in our democracy.

This ruling does not mark the end of our journey. I am resolute in my belief that every Kenyan, regardless of where they reside, shouls have an equal voice in shaping our nations future. I will be pursuing an appeal to ensure that the rights of our diaspora are respected and upheld.

The fight for justice and equality continues. We will not relent until all Kenyans are treated with the dignity they deserve.

As the Dutch royals & their delegation visit Kenya, trade and investment will be high on the agenda, but trade deals must not come at the cost of justice. No economic partnership should ignore human rights abuses or legitimize repression under Ruto's administration.
