Yesterday, I held an online consultative meeting with members of the Kenyan diaspora in the United States ahead of my planned visit there beginning on September 17.

I assured them that if elected President, I will enforce the rule of law without exception, and curb the looting of public resources. I also outlined the four goals for my trip: diaspora consultation for my manifesto, advancing diaspora voting and registration, building strategic partnerships around the campaign's five pillars, and mobilizing people-driven campaign financing through authorized channels in line with the law.

The Kenyan diaspora raised concerns about the marginalization of diaspora voters, citing difficult voter registration processes and limited access to polling stations.

In response, I pledged to address their concerns on voter registration through the recently formed People's Forum for Electoral Preparedness.

My sincerest condolences to the families who have suffered the loss of loved ones due to the unprecedented flooding in Nairobi city. It is my hope that the National government, in collaboration with the Nairobi County government, will take the lead in resolving the city's drainage issues once and for all. The National government should declare a national disaster in Nairobi and take the lead in providing compensation to affected families and businesses for their significant losses. On behalf of the Kenyan diaspora in the USA @kenya_usa we register our uttermost dissatisfaction with @IEBCKenya with the planned registration of Kenyans to vote in upcoming 2027 election excluding diaspora again. Kenyan diaspora apparently is only good with remittances only!! Our right to vote is still being infringed upon. Our fight will continue until the Supreme Court ruling of 2015 that directed IEBC to ensure diaspora Kenyan citizens right to vote is guaranteed! VIVA!!

It’s been a resilient week! I lost my sister Lucy midweek who my mom has raised from when she was a toddler till now. Lucy was about to seat for her KCSE in 2025! My mom is strong. Lucy has left her a beautiful toddler whom mom and we see determined to raise to her ability …Now here I am ……Would you be me? The court has ruled on my petition, HCCHRPET/E004/2022, challenging the unconstitutionality of Regulation 37 of the Elections (Registration of Voters) Regulations, 2012.

While the court has upheld the regulation requiring diaspora Kenyans to register with a passport, I firmly believe this decision fails to uphold the equality guaranteed by our Constitution.
This regulation unjustly discriminates against our citizens abroad, limiting their fundamental right to participate in our democracy.

This ruling does not mark the end of our journey. I am resolute in my belief that every Kenyan, regardless of where they reside, shouls have an equal voice in shaping our nations future. I will be pursuing an appeal to ensure that the rights of our diaspora are respected and upheld.

The fight for justice and equality continues. We will not relent until all Kenyans are treated with the dignity they deserve.

WHY are some folks vexed — anguished — about my decision to accept the appointment by H.E President William Ruto as Senior Advisor on Constitutional Affairs. I’ve spent my entire life in the law at the highest levels, especially in the United States. I can’t think of a better way to serve my native Kenya. I am sure some of those upset would readily accept the appointment. Chill, folks, and let those who are qualified, serve the country. I believe my expertise will be of good service to the President and the country.
