• Low BMI: Thin, underweight women

• Delayed getting pregnant or not getting pregnant

• Alcoholism

• Smoking/Shisha

• Estrogen-mimic diets

Bottom line: Endometriosis is estrogen-dependent.

High levels of circulating estrogen in the body drive the risk of women developing endometriosis, especially in underweight young women.
