@robert_lyman I recall on the war surgery course at Millbank many years ago an RN surgeon saying he joined the Royal Navy so he could have a bath before going into action.
I do remember ties still worn with coveralls in the RAC. Coloured cravats the generation before.
Looking through my father's wartime photos we found a negative which I had never looked at before, I hope this is Acrobat, his horse he took to the Middle East.
