@clhubes Driving 16yo to take the ACT and 13yo to his D&D game, grocery shopping, maybe going out for a happy hour drink with the wife, then making a family favorite dinner and having a movie night.
@CartoonsHateHer Probably like 11-14. (My kids are 13 and 16.) My 16yo is still awesome but definitely doing the age appropriate pulling away stuff a bit and occasionally I get sad about it.
@CartoonsHateHer Me at 21: Maybe I’ll have kids someday, I dunno.
Me at 23: I want a baby RIGHT NOW.
A friend joked I was going to have the first shotgun lesbian wedding. (Married at 23, had first kid at 27.)
@jtrebach lol why do doctors think it’s okay to do that? I once found a phone number scrawled in pen on one of our cloth napkins. My wife had written it down while on call and didn’t even realize she’d been writing on a napkin.
@clhubes I hate when people act like parenting is all downhill from babyhood. My kids are 13 and 15 and this Christmas was one of the best yet—they love our traditions, they’re grateful for gifts they get but most excited to give gifts to each other, and we can sleep in until 8.
@strangestloop For years I used the 1SE app and watching that 6 minute movie every NYE just made up of 1 second videos from my ordinary days gave me that feeling.
@CHSommers From the article: “ The conference welcomes all genders, but organizers encourage men to come as allies to women and non-binary technologists.”
