It is #IndigenousHistoryMonth and this is the story of Mary Simon, Canada's first Indigenous Governor General!
Simon was born in Kangiqsualujjuaq, Quebec on Aug. 21, 1947 to Bob, a Hudson's Bay Company manager and Nancy, an Inuk.
Simon lived a traditional lifestyle.
