London and the South East get far more money and investment per person than Scotland. The big economic investments pay for big projects that don't pay for our hospitals, schools and services — and that day-to-day funding has been cut here for years. Scotland absolutely could afford it, we raise nearly £100bn a year, enough to fund our own services, while currently our expenditure counts costs we likely wouldn’t carry when becoming independent such as Trident. similar-sized nations run strong welfare systems, and defence would actually save us money as we’d stop paying for nuclear weapons and global missions we don’t need and focus more on conventional defence. Most similar sized nations spend around 1-2 billion on defence and still meet their NATO requirements. Add in the revenues Scotland gives to the Treasury on oil revenues, renewable tariffs and more it would improve our income, with the potential of 25% of Europes Wind potential as an example — that energy could be charged to the rUK and the continent as we would be creating more energy supply than demand within Scotland. The same goes for wave energy too.

Agree, we need to look beyond the players and the manager and his coaching staff, including recruitment, the board and even the ownership and really ask ourselves what’s our ambition, what’s our identity and more importantly where do we want to be in 5–10 years time - if you can’t answer the later, it’s called stagnation

As much as O’Hora leaving is a blow given how solid he’s been at the back for us — I’d be happy enough with Henderson from Falkirk or another CB with same experience. Add an experienced forward and maybe another defender before the window closes and it’s a good end to the window. No doubt given our form it’ll be a kid from down south who’s played no senior football but we can only hope 🟢⚪️
