You might have seen a “scientific study” that said chloroquine can cure #COVID19…and then another one that shows that it can’t. Wondering what’s up with this? Are scientists lying to us? Are they just confused? Usually not. It all has to do with how we do science. A thread.
A medieval practice which cannot be continued. The excuse that it "helps the community/ gets food/ inputs money" is a weak and pathetic argument. It is unsustainable, brutal and in our current declining biodiversity, self destructive and selfish. @ChrisGPackham what do you think?
If you love Dinosaurs (and who doesn't?), get yourself to Dinosaur Isle and speak to, amongst others, @sotonbiosci students from #MResEvolution about Darwin, the Origin of Species, Finches, the Galapagos, Dinosaurs, Science, DNA, natural history......

In the UK/EU, we each consume 61kg of soy per year in the form of chicken, pork, salmon, cheese, milk and eggs. ~50% comes from South America, primarily Brazil and Argentina. Want to help put out the fires in the #Amazon? Choose organic and grass-fed. Eat less and better meat.
This has been a special moment, something has changed with this group. We can feel it. You can feel it. We’ve made a difference.

Same goes for Costa! Bring ANY reusable cup (yes - even Starbucks ones, that’s how much we care about the environment😉) and get 25p off ANY drink 🌱☕️
- also get your cold drinks ‘to have in’ and they come in a glass with a paper straw so NO PLASTIC ❌🚫
@LEGO_Group@LEGOIdeas@NeilJGostling I feel these would fit in well in your office!! 🦕🦖
(Also it’s not 5 dinosaurs, but 4 dinosaurs and 1 plesiosaur, you’d think they’d have researched it more?)
On the way home from uni I spotted an absolutely incredible #echium and have been seeing many tweets about them recently (mostly from @Fritillaria3 I think😉) but I thought I’d share mine. Sophie (5ft4) begrudgingly stood next to it for scale...
Had a great morning with Steve @etchescollect and @KerriFReynolds talking about 3rd year @sotonbiosci projects. On the way back we stopped at Broadstone Cemetery to pay our respects at Alfred Russell Wallace's grave #Evolution#NaturalSelection
Started watching the new Attenborough documentary ‘Our Planet’ on @NetflixUK on the way back from #Bolonia2019FieldTrip. Absolutely stunning camera work, our world really is so precious - please look after it. 🐘🌿
