One day I decided to play “Jump” at soundcheck- Billy Idol rushes up to me and said we have to learn this song and play it tonight!
Here is the result!
"Kushner is the ‘chief negotiator’ for Israel and Gaza and Iran; and for Ukraine and Russia. He is not an elected or appointed official. He’s a mafia operative who is Trump’s son-in-law, which is how authoritarian kleptocracies work. I’ve dreaded this moment for ten years. It’s finally here. These are the conditions that lead to WWIII.” https://t.co/Ua5M6IscEJ
At 9:23 this morning, the White House abruptly dismissed the press traveling with the president of the United States while he was away for the weekend at his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. With the cameras now gone, just three hours later at 12:32 p.m., Donald Trump would share the first of 42 posts on Truth Social in a span of less than 3 hours and 15 minutes. The president’s public meltdown began when he posted his disappointment with one of his appointees, “I don’t know what she was thinking?” before he jumped straight into more delusional and dangerous images. Among the flood of posts, he shared an AI-generated image of himself kissing Jesus on a golden crucifix. He shared a “TRUMP 2028” campaign poster, a fake image of himself walking beside a handcuffed alien on a military base, and a renewed threat to invade Greenland.
He didn’t stop there. He posted a painting of himself as the commanding general, leading Revolutionary War soldiers into battle with his mouth open in a battle cry, while flames consumed the battlefield behind him, and a battered American flag flew overhead. This is how he sees himself. Not as a president spending the weekend at his golf course, but as a warrior king leading his nation into battle, one he would have never had the courage to actually fight in. That fantasy is not harmless, because right now he is leading us deeper into a real war where real people have died.
He also shared a fake image of his face merged with President George Washington’s, split straight down the middle, under the words “250 Years / In God We Trust.” It was a deliberate attempt to place himself alongside the founder of the American republic. Because he sees himself as his equal and inseparable from the nation itself. He’s saying he is Washington and he is the republic.
He posted a map of South America with Venezuela filled in as an American flag and labeled “51st State.” He shared an actual photograph of himself stepping out of a golf cart, hunched forward, a white USA hat in his hand, looking every single day of his eighty years, but with the caption “President Trump ages in reverse!”
Then there was the created image of himself as Elvis Presley in his iconic white rhinestone jumpsuit, with a deep V-neck and with his chest exposed, and a bald eagle embroidered across his heart. In it, Trump, masquerading as Elvis, stands in front of a microphone as though he is about to perform for a waiting crowd. And I couldn’t help but think about the irony of Trump choosing Elvis in this moment, knowing that he spent his final years overmedicated and isolated, surrounded by enablers who told him what he wanted to hear while his body and mind deteriorated. And how Elvis died alone in a bathroom at Graceland while the people closest to him pretended everything was fine. If Trump was trying to choose a metaphor for where he is right now, he could not have picked a more accurate one.
He just kept going. He posted an image of himself as a young man in a military school uniform, seated across a table from present-day Trump, with the caption “Same Guy. Even more energy now!” Present-day Trump is staring adorably at younger Trump. But what the image actually shows is the distance between who he was and who he has become. The young man in the uniform is upright, sharp, but not too far away from bone spurs and draft deferments. The man sitting across from him is eighty years old, and struggling. The fact that he felt compelled to post this, to insist publicly that nothing has changed, tells us everything about what he is afraid of. People who are fine do not need to prove they are fine. People who are declining do.
I will never forget this portrait composed of the faces of healthcare workers across the world who died from Covid. These are the heroes who should never be forgotten.
Remember when we warned that SAVE Act would create unnecessary barriers for eligible voters?
The response was always the same:
“Just get the paperwork.”
Well, Florida is showing us what “just get the paperwork” actually looks like.
A Florida woman and Army veteran found that out when she ran into problems getting a REAL ID because she couldn’t produce a marriage record from 50 years ago to connect her name history.
Think about that. A citizen and Army veteran stuck because one old document was missing. Now expand that across the country. Millions upon millions of Americans have identity histories that don’t fit into one perfect government record. Marriage, adoption, divorce, immigration, court-ordered name changes, and simple clerical errors all create gaps.
The SAVE Act would add more opportunities for those gaps to become barriers. As is being proven in Florida.
Republicans have been lying to you.
I know some of you will only see her mutation and nothing else, but Sarah took me to the private school she works at. They’re doing amazing work with gifted youngsters and I was very impressed with her boss.
I questioned Anthony Fauci under oath during COVID. I asked questions. He answered them. That's what congressional oversight is supposed to look like.
What Republicans did to him this week wasn't oversight. It was a humiliation ritual.
Here's why that should concern everyone, regardless of what you think about Fauci. (Link in reply)
What pisses me off the most about this revisionist history about Covid is that these muthafuckers forget how hard medical workers worked to save lives. Fuck Rand Paul and the whole GOP 😤
This is random, but I wanted to extend my gratitude to Democratic Congresswoman Joyce Beatty for her tireless effort in protecting the Kennedy Center from being fully destroyed by a vindictive jealous petty classless criminal. 💙👊
They died serving our country. They should be honored, not erased.
Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii
Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas
Sgt. Angel Rampersad, 28, of New York
Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of North Carolina
The fiancée of 1st Lt. Tyler Feehan is sharing an emotional tribute to the 25-year-old Army officer killed in action while serving in Jordan amid the conflict with Iran.
"Tyler Feehan was my fiancé and the love of my life. His loss has devastated me beyond imagining, and there are no words that can truly capture the depth of that grief.
To the world, Tyler was an Army officer. To those who knew and loved him, he was so much more. Serving others and standing up for what he believed in wasn't just a job. It was his purpose. Tyler embodied everything the Army values strive to represent: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. He didn't just wear those values on his uniform—he lived them every single day.
Tyler looked up to Ted Lasso as an example of the kind of leader he wanted to be. He believed that leadership began with kindness, humility, and genuinely caring about people. It never mattered to him what someone's past was, their financial situation, their race, their gender, or their rank. He believed every person deserved dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to succeed.
His soldiers meant everything to him. He went above and beyond to make sure they were prepared not only for their military careers but for life beyond the Army. Whether it was helping them understand their education benefits, teaching them about financial responsibility, or simply taking the time to listen when they needed someone, Tyler poured his heart into serving those under his leadership. Every day, he would come home and tell me stories about his soldiers. Their accomplishments, their struggles, and how proud he was of them. I hope each and every one of them knows just how much they meant to him.
Outside of the Army, Tyler found joy in the little things that made him who he was. He loved building LEGO sets, cheering for the Atlanta Falcons, using Dr. Squatch soap and drinking Shatto Milk from Missouri. He loved to travel.
After his military service, Tyler wanted to become a high school football coach. He wanted to mentor young people, teach them the game he loved, and help anyone willing to listen to understand personal finance so they could build a secure and successful future. Tyler believed in investing in people. His goal was to leave every person he met better than he found them.
His legacy is not only one of service to his country but of compassion, generosity, and an unwavering belief in the goodness and potential of others. I know countless lives are forever changed because he chose to lead with his heart.
The very last text message Tyler sent me before he died was simply, “I love you.” Those three words were perfect even if he didn’t know it at the time. This is the man he was. This is how I hope Tyler Feehan is remembered: not only as an exceptional Army officer, but as a man whose greatest strength was his heart. I will love him for the rest of my life, and I will do everything I can to honor the legacy he leaves behind."
