We are disappointed that the Government has delayed its report into how factors such as ethnicity, deprivation, age, gender and obesity impact how people are affected by #COVID19.
Now more than ever we need to understand why these inequalities exist.
Feeling incredibly thankful and grateful for being nominated and winning a beautiful Nostara candle at work in celebration of International day of the Midwife. I have some wonderful, kind, colleagues and friends. Made my week, thank you 😊❤️ @ndht @nostaraluxury
On the long day on labour ward at RD&E.... M&S have donated us cake and handcream ❤️🍰The little things mean a lot. @MaternityRde @RDEhospitals @ExeterRcm
I feel privileged to be part of this fantastic team. I'm very grateful to @ndht for facilitating a joint preceptorship across both trusts & @MaternityRde for making me feel so welcome. I am learning so much to share across Devon! #sharedworking#preceptee#NHS#futuremidwife
In London for the 'Learning about NICE event' on behalf of Plymouth University as a student champion. Looks like it is going to be an interesting day, utilising quality research to deliver the best Midwifery practice. #NICE_ES_SCS @PlymouthMIDSOC @PlymUni @PlymUniHHS @NICEComms
4 years of hard work and a LOT of support and patience from family and friends led to this grin and it has still not left my face. What an amazing day. I couldn't have done it without them! I am extremely grateful! @PlymouthMIDSOC @PlymUni @PlymUniHHS
@KirstieMAllsopp@SaraCottenden From the study your initial tweet refers to-The odds of receiving individual interventions (augmentation, epidural or spinal analgesia, general anaesthesia, ventouse or forceps, intrapartum caesarean section, episiotomy) the greatest reductions are seen for planned home births!
@KirstieMAllsopp Also, to give due consideration to the other side of your somewhat flawed argument, that means 55%, (the greater majority), of first time mums who opt for a home birth, remain at home. How fantastic!
@KirstieMAllsopp Surely no one would be that irresponsible to have posted such a poorly thought out tweet?! But, like your freedom to tweet, Meghan (and all women) have freedom of birth place that weighs up the evidence, risks, benefits and PERSONAL choice. No daftness or irresponsibility there.
@dionnems @chilledmamacath @KirstieMAllsopp Hi Dionnems, first and second degree tears can usually be sutured at home but for third and fourth degree tears, due to the complexity, the recommendation is for transfer in to be sutured in theatre by an appropriately skilled professional. Hope this helps :)
