TONIGHT!
Red Planet Mars is at its closest to Earth.
It won't get this close again for another 15 years in 2035.
You can see it in the east now and it will get higher and more southerly as the evening moves on.
Look for an incredibly bright reddish orange star like object.
Every second, a star explodes somewhere in our vast universe. 🌟
We can watch a supernova in the galaxy NGC 2525 fade away in this video, featuring a time-lapse of photos taken by Hubble over the course of a year! Learn more: https://t.co/l7fbOZWEkm
Unusually this month we are being treated to two full moons. Tonight you’ll be able to see the first which is a Harvest Moon and the second will be on 31st Oct - a Halloween ‘Hunter’s Moon’ 👻.
I took this 📷 from the #ISS in 2016.
