Ok since @nbagleague is looking at comeback at @Disney w/no fans. What about @NCAADII@NCAADIII@NCAAD1 3 different weekends no fans! Crown a champ. Play like a AAU event and knock out all games in 1 weekend!
Everyone’s path is different. Some will play D1. Some will play D3. Others may go JUCO or NAIA. There will be some that never play a minute in college but had great high school careers. Some will walk away for other reasons. Walk your path; it’s meant for you!
I’ve seen D1 transfers not play 5 mins a game at the NAIA schools they went to
I’ve seen D3 players transfer to major D1’s & kill it
I’ve seen D2 players in the NBA
I know pro talented players that never played anywhere cause they were “too good for that school”
Practice is for team development, growth within the team dynamic & system.
Improved shooting - Individual Work
Ball handling - Individual Work
Hoops IQ - Film Study
Get stronger - Individual/team weight training
Moral...practice is NEVER enough if you wanna be great
NCAA D2 / NAIA are both full of guys that could/did play D1
D1 has guys that would struggle to make certain non-D1 rosters
JUCO is full of hungry DAWGS
D3 is loaded w/ Hoopers
Home is full of those that coulda, shoulda, woulda, and didn’t
Don’t be sitting home next year
RECRUITS: I can’t speak for all college coaches but, I spend as much time (or more) watching what you do WITHOUT the ball as what you do WITH it. Can you be active and impact the game without having the ball in your hand? In my program, at least, you’ll need to. #JustSayin
Sports are powerful. They bring people together. They bring teams together. They bring cultures together. Sports are powerful. They promote love, teamwork, and help establish lifelong friendships with people around the country and beyond. Sports are powerful.
Incredible defensive possession full of energy and communication. You see about everything:
*Defending a ghost screen
*Common sense switch
*Closeout
*Helpside stopping ball outside paint
*Gap support help
*X-out
*Forced contested midrange shot
*Finish with a rebound
Being a student-athlete is one of the best stages of your life. Go to class, work hard & buy-in. If you do these things you’ll have a rewarding experience and learn life-long skills that will help you long after you’re done playing.
BREAKING NEWS: Having a great career at the NCAA D2, NAIA, NCAA D3 & NJCAA level is more rewarding than having a below average experience at an NCAA D1 school.
Also, you’re more likely to get overseas pro opportunities playing a big role at a non-D1 than a minimal role at a D1.
If you want to play college basketball there are a few important things to understand! You better be able to defend, rebound, talk, sprint the floor, and out work your opponent. Notice I didn’t mention scoring which many are solely focused on!
