Some people claim that the fact Biden only won 1 of 19 bellwether counties in 2020 is evidence of fraud in the election. The 19 counties in this case are the only counties that voted for every winning president from 1980 through 2016.
Is there reason to believe this claim?

@BuzzPatterson Explain Buzz.
Are you suggesting Trump will use these baseless claims of voter fraud to do some authoritarian shit? That his supporters will justify authoritarian shit on the baseless claims of voter fraud?
Spencer Pratt was dominating social media with viral clips about how various interests were ripping off Los Angeles taxpayers. Do you think those interests really wanted five more months of that?
@willchamberlain I love this shit. We’re watching right wingers who used to seem relatively sane but who have also been subjected to so many conspiracy theories from their tribe that they gradually become just as brain rotted as their credulous allies.
Step back from the ledge Will.
@UWMoose@guy7689@AthletesInSpace Tell me you weren’t at the 2000, 2004, and 2016 Capitol riots without telling me you weren’t at the 2000, 2004, and 2016 Capitol riots.
@KevinButterhof@Biscuithammer0@AmanitaFugax As you see in the previous tweet below, I believe their distrust is widespread and unappeasable.
And Trump is obviously very connected to distrust of elections since he baselessly told his supporters that “frankly” he DID win in 2020.

@KevinButterhof@Biscuithammer0@AmanitaFugax They are mutually exclusive in that we were talking about trust in elections and you’re muddying the discussion by introducing potential causes for Trump’s wins.
@KevinButterhof@Biscuithammer0@AmanitaFugax You’re not being serious.
Trump isn’t merely a symptom when he feeds his supporters conspiracy theories about election fraud. He is a cause.
@KevinButterhof@Biscuithammer0@AmanitaFugax It’s a shame the right is focusing on institutional distrust when Trump and their preferred information sources are where they SHOULD be focusing their distrust anger on.
Trump and many right-wing influencers and media lied to them about his loss and continue to lie to this day.
@Delilah423@RyGuyAZ@stephen_richer At what point does a very conservative person look at his political allies and realize they shouldn’t be allies anymore?
@KevinButterhof@Biscuithammer0@AmanitaFugax It’s decades of right-wing messaging that caused this lack of trust.
It’s their preferred candidate saying the election was stolen from him that caused the lack of trust.
That doesn’t need a legislative response. It needs sincere GOP members to push back on the BS.
