@woketopiansa He was at the time a part-time footballer and he worked in a bank as well as playing for Bohemians in the League of Ireland. He is now full-time but he was 26/27 at the time, so it was quite late before he became a full professional footballer.
I saw three championship parades in Oakland something that I thought I’ll never see in my lifetime. If you never experienced one I feel bad for you lol
Soccer would not exist without immigrants. Immigrants play and coach the game, work in the stadiums, fill the stands, and make celebrations like the World Cup possible. Six of the players on the US Men's National Team are immigrants.
We will not allow ICE or anyone else to sow fear in our communities — especially at this moment. As the world comes to our city, we will stand proudly with our immigrant neighbors and reject these attacks for what they are: an attempt to divide us.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Former Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Jeffrey Dewsnup, the youngest player ever to sign for the club, is suing RSL for $100 million.

Immigrants on visas get mortgages because banks run the numbers, not the passport.

But here's the real irony
The immigrant on a 3-year visa is building a home.
Some people born here are still renting their whole lives and blaming the immigrant for it.
The pot didn't melt. It was never meant to be for some people
Football is so obsessed with xG and analytics nowadays so players don’t attempt things like this.
That’s why we rarely see screamers any more.
Game has become so boring.
“They come with different mentalities.” 🇲🇽🇺🇸
There are quite a few Mexican-American players in the current Mexico squad, which has been a subject of debate in the Mexican media.
Guatemala’s Mexican coach Luis Fernando Tena was asked about this topic on ESPN MX recently.
“Well, they have an American mentality,” Tena said.
“They were born there with Mexican parents. Or Guatemalan parents, I’ve interacted with them a lot [in Guatemala national team].
“But they grew up in American schools, they grew up with that mentality, they grew up with good nutrition. And that makes them different.
“They’re more disciplined, they work harder, they’re more focused, which sometimes we find many Mexicans who aren’t so much like that.
“I think it’s worth it. Now, many players come from the U.S. to all over the world especially here in Guatemala. There are many in our team and we always look for players of Guatemalan descent.
“They come with different mentalities than many players. I’m not saying all of them, but many players that we have here. They value good things.”
Tena guided Guatemala to the Gold Cup semifinals last summer with a number of Guatemalan-American players in the squad.
The 68-year-old was once a Mexican senior national team assistant as well as caretaker. He was also the head coach when Mexico won the Gold Medal in 2012 Olympics.
