@sappholives83 That is awesome…you are a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore if anyone be in Christ he is a new creation the old has passed away. Behold all things become new.
@sappholives83 Diana…praise God. Lifting you up in prayer and your new relationship to Jesus. So happy for you….just don’t listen to all the negative people on X.
@beready4rapture Well friend it looks like this is a phishing scam but all that to say…It would be terrible to lose your presence on X. I love reading your posts and while I don’t often engage I have sent your co rat to friend and family more than a few times. Thanks for your ministry.
Actually as a Protestant. Would say what the Apostke Oaul says in Romans 10:9-11 9 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
We would say that works do not lead to salvation or save a person. However we would say people who put their faith in Christ alone for Salvation are then indwelt with the Spirit of God. Then follow in obedience to Jesus. But we obey and do good works not to earn salvation but out of love for Jesus. We very much believe in good works and even Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. So good works are evidence of a relationship with Jesus that we accept in faith alone not trusting in works as a means of Salvation. So I think this really mis-Characterizes what Protestants believe.
Titus 3:4-7 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
So we believe good works follow salvation but one is not saved by good works.
@kevin_smith45@ScottJenningsKY This is not real. He is wearing a military uniform with no rank or name tapes. Hat is completely out of Reg’s. It’s staged.
@Protestia Just listen to the podcast of The Ride and Fall of Mars Hill where he was previously the pastor. It’s disturbing and you will get a better handle on how much he knows about social media and how he used it.
I have 5 kids. They are all grown now. I woukd have taken responsibility for my kids behavior as painful as it would have been. Second in an environment like that I would have been holding their hands esiwxiallybif I knew they maybe were rambounctios. Third, this was a a failure of the completion. They should has still awarded the prize money. They judged it, and saw it first hand. Their decision was made. This is also a failure in their part if this really happened this way.
You know you can’t negotiate if they do t think it’s an option. The threat must be and appear real that we will send in US troops. If they only think we are going to bomb them and they think they can stay hidden…they will just wait it out. However a perceived threat of invasion could flip the negotiations.
Ok so if this is true then the U.S. is watching it in real time via satelitę. So we can just start dropping bombs or 2 we know exactly what they are doing and already have a solution. So if Irans defenses that they have been building up for 47 years could stop the U.S. and wasn’t even a deterrent…what makes you think sudden build up will be.
John 1:9–If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to cleanse us from our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We have all been there. I encourage you to do a few things:
1) just confess to God and acknowledge all your sin and a knowledge you havd willfully rebelled against him.
2) Create an accountability system with the sin you are struggling with. Find a trusted Godly sister who can help you and keep you acoountable.
3). Put something in place that makes this sin more difficult to reach or do.
4) Start reading your Bible. A chapter a day and ask Gid to speak to you. Pick a book of the Bible and start reading through it. Just start with one of the Gospels…God’s word softens our heart through his Spirit.
5) Go to a church the preaches and teaches the Bible. Even when you don’t feel like it…go.
6) Remember: we don’t come back to Christ by cleaning ourselves up and trying to be worthy of his acceptance. We come to Christ simply acknowledging the mess we are with and ask him to cleanse us.
7) Part of what you are dealing with is guilt. We often times have this works based mentality of needed to earn forgiveness by being “better”. This is not true. We come to Him and he is the one through His spirit that changes our desires. Your guilt is hindering you for running back to Jesus. Be like the prodigal son…come back to the Father and tell him I’m not worthy and watch him embrace you again.
8). Our intentional rebellion hardens our hearts and fellowship is broken with God this is why you feel distant with not motivation for spiritual things. Start with number 1 on this list and ask God to change your heart and work your way downward smd you will see restored fellowship and you’ll be suprised at how quickly it happens.
